Random Thursday. Things I love about my BFF...

Hallo meine Lieben,

welcome to another Random Thursday with LinEm and me. I hope you are all doing fine. Sorry for not posting that much recently but I guess I will be back with some more posts soon.

I have known my real life BFF Julia for my whole life. We grew up together, her house was on the other side of the road and we saw each other every single day. Life changes but our friendship never has and that means so much to me. I hope you also know how much my blogging friends mean to me...Thank you so much for all your emails and for being there for me. You don't know what this means to me. Thank you.

* We always stay in touch, no matter in which countries we life or how much time we have.
* I can totally count on her. Always.
* She is one of the smartest people I have ever met. And one of the funniest.
* We can talk about old E.R. episodes for hours.
* We have so many fun memories together.
* We wrote each other letters, almost every single night. Even when we spent the majority of the day together.
* She always prepares vegan food for me.
* It's always fun to spend time with her - we don't even have to talk. But we never run out of topics to talk about.
* We sound horrible when we sing old Take That songs together.
* She is one of the few people who are allowed to borrow my books. Because I know that I get them back in the same condition.
* She is silly like me.

There are a million more things I love about my BFF....what do you love about your BFF? Please share!

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are doing fine. You might have noticed that it has been quiet around here lately. The reason for this is a family emergency we are dealing with right now. Thanks to all of you who send me such sweet messages and asked if I was alright. It means a lot.

Random Thursday. Spring cleaning tips....

Hallo meine Lieben,

welcome to another Random Thursday with LinEm and me. Hope you are all doing fantastic.

I have to say that I am not really the "spring cleaner". I am trying to keep things organized all year round and I don't try to attempt to clean everything out in spring. But of course sometimes you get the "cleaning fever" and try to get rid of some things that piled up over the time. So here are some of the things I usually do in spring.

1. Receipts.

I usually keep receipts because I think that I might need them at some point. So not only my wallet is full of receipts but also my desk. But honestly, who cares if I bought a hand cream in November. I won't bring it back to the store.

2. Bathroom cabinet.

I tend to have more shampoos, body lotions etc than I need. So before buying something new I look through all the stuff in the cabinet, see what I can find and use that before I buy something I don't really need.

3. Winter clothes.

I know I am always cold but I probably won't wear my winter coat until September. So I store that kind of stuff and make space for my spring/summer wardrobe. Still need my warm socks though. All year round.

4. Spring cleaning for the soul.

Get rid of bad thoughts, try to think positive and concentrate on the good stuff. Try to laugh and be happy.

What are your spring cleaning tips? Please share!

A day in a duck's life, vegan shoe love and German movie titles. {Ten On Tuesday}

Hallo meine Lieben,

it's Tuesday again and I hope you are all doing great. You can link up with your ten random things at Alyssa's blog

1. If you need your daily dose of cuteness you can watch a video of a day in a duck's life on Cute Overload

2. I might want to have these vegan Toms for summer. I like Toms' One for One model. For every pair of shoes they sell, they donate a pair to a child. I would say that's a good reason to buy a new pair of shoes.

3. I will never understand why "Bent it like Beckham" is called "Kick it like Beckham" in Germany.

4. If you can knit and want to do something good for birds, you should check this out.

5. Not only takes this place at an Irish farm which makes the whole video a must watch, but you can also see a cat mommy who adopts baby ducklings and raises them together with her 3 kittens. You can find this here.

6. This morning I woke up and Lumpi's face was maybe 2cm away from my face. He must have fallen asleep on me during the night and I did not even realize it. I have to say it is definitely nice to wake up and the first thing you see is your cat's sleepy face.

7. So true.

8. I signed up for another course on FutureLearn. Really love that site.

9. I am so glad they renewed Criminal Minds but they cancelled Family Tree. What is wrong with these TV people? Don't they know anything? How dare they? I am mad.

10. I am glad Mother's Day is over for this year.

Have a fantastic week! Thanks for reading!

How to style my favorite Anjolee jewelry. {sponsored post}

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all having a wonderful time! I don't know how you feel about it but I love jewelry. You can spice up every outfit with the right jewelry, even when you just wear jeans and a shirt. Personally I prefer necklaces and bracelets so I really like to have some selected pieces that I can wear for different occasions. In my every day life I usually keep it simple but for special occasions I love to wear a statement necklace for example. So today I want to show you which of the beautiful items from Anjolee I would wear with outfits for different occasions and I hope you like my selection.

The everyday outfit.

I love comfy casual outfits. I would wear this to meet my friends, to go shopping or to go sightseeing on a city trip. My crazy cat lady sneakers are very comfortable so you can walk in them all day long. Those pants are my favorites, I just love the color. A scarf is a must-have for me because I am always cold. The polka dot sweater and the little bag complete the outfit. I would add some dark red nail polish and put my Lush minty chocolate lip scrub in my bag and I am ready to go. I think the beautiful necklace would be a perfect addition to this outfit because it sparkles and makes the outfit extra special that way.

The office outfit.

I love blazers, I can't help myself. They match every outfit and always make you look good. This one is my favorite because of the faux leather details. I would combine it with simple black pants, a cute blouse with a bow and these shoes which I loved so much that I had to buy them in three colors -black, bordeaux and rose. My favorite Beauty Without Cruelty nail polish and my glasses complete the outfit. I would wear this ring because it is simply perfect. A sparkly detail can never hurt.

The rock concert outfit.

I love going to concerts. The last one I went to was Muse and it was fantastic. Will never forget that experience. My outfit has to be comfortable because you have to stand around at a crowded place all evening. I guess you can't really do wrong with a faux leather jacket when you go to a rock concert. This is definitely one of my favorite jackets, I love the pattern. I would combine it with those awesome red pants and shoes, both comfy but extra special. I guess I don't have to mention how much I love this purse. My Jill Milan bag is by far my favorite piece I have ever owned. It is vegan (like everything you can see here) and the most fantastic bag on the planet. There is enough space in it to bring some needed snacks next to my phone, wallet and keys. I add some sparkly nail polish, my Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lip tar and sunglasses of course. And that bracelets just rocks. I think it is so cool and matches the outfit perfectly. Here you can find more diamond bracelets for women . All pieces can be customized according to your preference.

What is your favorite piece of jewelry? What do you think about my selection?

{Disclosure: This is a sponsored post by Anjolee. I received compensation in exchange for writing this review. All opinions are my own.}

Five Things. 1600 pandas, earth from space and donkey day.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Please check out my friend Celeste's Five Things as well.

1. Here you can see 1600 pandas. Artist Paulo Grangeo worked together with the WWF and created these papier-mâché pandas to raise awareness....can you believe that there are only 1600 pandas left in the wild? Find our more here.

2. You can watch the earth from space here. Pretty fascinating. Unless it is dark.

3. On Thursday was World Donkey Day. Donkeys are such fantastic animals but unfortunately they often get treated like second-class beings and get exploited and abused. Find out more here

4. Another book shelf obsession of mine. I really am in desperate need of my own library.

5. If you need a good laugh, you should listen to the animal song.

Happy Sunday & Mother's Day!

Random Thursday. Favorite thing about my Mom...

Hallo meine Lieben,

time for another Random Thursday with LinEm and me. Hope you are all having a great time.

I guess many of you know that I lost my Mom so for me Mother's Day is always a weird day. I do not want to look at all the Mother's Day gift guys you see around because all I can do is to bring some flowers or pottery things to the cemetery. But I do have a lot of great memories about my mom and of course there are many favorite things about her.

We shared the love for food.

So here are some of my favorite things about my Mom....

- she was the best cook. Of course. Moms always are. She always cooked my favorite things.
- she was the funniest person.
- she had the best advice and I could talk to her about anything.
- she loved animals and we rescued many in need together.
- she was always there for others, no matter what.
- she was a bookworm.
- she always spoke her mind.
- she was my rock.
- she loved going to flea markets. And visit old cemeteries. Museums. Libraries. Castles.
- she loved to wear red lipstick.
- she loved gardening.
- she was so smart and knew so many things.
- we always watched a stupid show together during lunch when I came home from school.
- she was such a talented painter and drawer.
- she always encouraged me.
- she was the best and I miss her a lot.

What's your favorite thing about your mom? Please share!

A fashion corgi, vegan mac'n'cheese and a baby porcupine. {Ten On Tuesday}

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a fantastic week! You can link up for Ten On Tuesday with Alyssa here.

1. I made vegan Mac'n'Cheese a couple of days ago and it was delicious. You can find the recipe here. I have to say that I skipped the lemon and agave the recipe talks about and added lots of spicy stuff instead. I always modify recipes.

2. You can find 30 unique book shelves here. I really need some more storage space for my books. I am thinking about building a book shelf myself.

3. Click here if you want to see a rolling raccoon.

4. Baby porcupines are adorable. See more pictures here.

5. I really want to start doing yoga again. Maybe today would be a good day. I try not to procrastinate anymore. At least not that much.

6. Last night somebody tried to kill me in my dream again. Among other things I got chased by a giant monster pizza with blue glibber on it.

7. corgi fashion show. As you can clearly see, I like to watch cute animal videos.

8. I love uncommon animal friendships. So here you can see a kitten and a duckling snuggling up together.

9. I think some humans forget that they are not the only living beings on this planet once in a while....(not that I think the earth "was made" in some religious way....The earth was formed. But you get the point.).

10. That really is a problem.

Have a great week everybody! Thanks for reading!

Five Things. Walking Dead for corgis.

Hallo meine Lieben,

hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Please go and check out my friend Celeste's Five Things as well.

1. These animals.

Found them on Cute Overload and they immediately made me smile. There's another one. Animals are fantastic creatures. They amaze me every single day.

2. This fantastic short film which I found on OCD: Obsessive Corgi Disorder. It has zombies and a hero corgi in it.

3. I started to watch the show Silicon Valley and I am really liking it.

4. Have you read this book? Is so, what do you think? It is next on my to-be-read-list.

Here is what Goodreads says.

Benton Kirby is in a spot of bother...

His life hasn't exactly gone to plan. This is hardly surprising, however, as he never really had one in the first place. Armed with a philosophy degree, a dead fiancée, a brother who drives Death around London in his black cab, and a girlfriend with a history of suicidal pets, Benton - ambitionless and emotionally disengaged - embarks, for no apparent reason, on an affair with a beautiful, sexually adventurous, Korean virgin.

Following a strange snowballing of even stranger events, he finds himself, at last, exactly not where he ever imagined he would be, up a tree at night in the park with a hedgehog...

5. I need this. Because my book collection is getting bigger and bigger.

Have a  happy week!

Random Thursday. Fashion Faux Pas I can't stand.

Hallo meine Lieben,

hello to another Random Thursday with LinEm and me. I hope you are all having a fantastic week! Happy Holiday to my German friends. I hope you enjoy your day off!

I guess pretty much anything goes in fashion....but there are some things I really can't stand and don't want to see....

Wearing fur.

Shame on John Mayer and all the others. Have they never seen pictures or videos of how these coats are made? How the animals must suffer? I guess not. Or they just don't care. His coat is made of coyotes and rabbits by the way. No person with a conscience could ever buy a coat like that. It's just an absolute no-go and my biggest fashion fail. It's not even a faux pas anymore.

White boots.

Can't help myself but they look cheap. They really freak me out. I have never seen white boots I liked so I will just stick with all the other beautiful colors in the world.

Exposed thongs.

Even better when you combine this with white boots. I guess people can't look trashier than that. Nobody needs to see your underwear in public....

More examples: Pants that are too short, pants that are too long and you step on them and they start to look really nasty, too tight clothes....

What are the fashion faux pas you can't stand? Please share!
