happy new year & welcome to another week of Random Thursday. So excited for some fantastic topics in 2014!
Just came back from the airport. David left which makes me really sad. I hope everything will go fine with his flights. They already cancelled his flight from NY to Cleveland (the weather is supposed to be really bad in NY) so now he has to fly from NY to Detroit and then from Detroit to Cleveland. Poor David. Hope there won't be anymore problems.
We had a fantastic time together and I am so sad that he had to leave again. But we will be back together soon. I will tell you all about our time together and our trips soon, I just need to sort through all the 1200 pictures we took.
So here are the things I am looking forward to in 2014.
A new place to live.
One of our top goals for the year 2014. We are not sure where we will end up exactly but we want to find a new place to live. This is a pretty big adventure and we need to take care of lots of things but I hope it will happen soon.
Adopting a new family member.
I want to open our home and hearts to a new pet in 2014. I feel the desperate need to give another homeless animal a loving place to live. I have lots of love to give and I am sure the cats and bunnies would enjoy another companion.
Lots of great books to read.
I did not find as much time to read in 2013 as I wanted to so this definitely needs to change. I have so many books on my reading list (and I also got some fantastic new ones for Christmas (thanks to my friends Martha and Emily, David and my Dad) and I want to read them all. Plus all the books I discover this year.
Lots of quality time with my loves ones.
Can't wait for more adventures and making memories, discovering new things and being with the people I love. It would also be awesome to be able to meet some people I only know from the blog world in reality.
DIY.
Another thing I did not find enough time for in 2013. This year I want to learn how to crochet and sew, work on my knitting skills, paint and draw more, build my own furniture, decorate our home etc. Crafting makes me happy so I really need to find a way to do it more often.
There are lots of things I am looking forward to in 2014...new adventures, new challenges and so on. Stay tuned.
What are you looking forward to? Hope 2014 will be fantastic for you!
Hi Katrin!
ReplyDeletewonderful list! Please do adopt a bundle of joy!
may God fulfill all your wishes :)
Thank you so much, Ankita! You are so sweet! I hope all your dreams will come true! And I am hoping to add another furry friend soon!
Deletei'm just hoping it's gonna be more adventurous year of life. whether it's a new place to live, or anything else.
ReplyDeleteSounds great, Niken! Hope everything will turn out the way you wish to!
DeleteCan't wait to "meet" the new member of your family, whenever he/she arrives!
ReplyDeleteI hope David will have a relatively pain-free flight home! Those cancellations suck. Hopefully he will get home safe and sound and without too many hassles.
I can't wait either, Martha! :) I wish I could adopt more! :)
DeleteDavid's flight back was a nightmare. Lots of cancellations and delays, it took him 38 hours! :((
I love all your plans for the new year! :) I'm so excited to hear more about your moving adventures. And I can't wait to see what amazing creature will be a new edition to your family. Oh, and the books - yes, I want to read more books in 2014, too :)
ReplyDeleteI love all those handcrafts, too. And spending lots of quality time with loved ones always is the most important part.
I hope David gets back home safely and without any more problems.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Ich druecke Dich ganz feste, liebste Katrin.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Beate! I hope your 2014 will be perfect and all your dreams will come true! You deserve it because you are fantastic!
DeleteDavid's flight back was a nightmare full of cancellations and delays. It took him 38 hours to get back. :( Horrible!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Ich drücke Dich ganz dolle, liebste Beate!
I certainly hope that 2014 is your best year yet!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susannah! Yours as well!
DeleteHi Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteWow that are some superb goals. I would love yo crochet too someday.
xoxo
I am sure crocheting is a lot of fun! Happy new to you as well!
DeleteThis looks great, and it would be so exciting for you to get a new pet!
ReplyDeleteI wish you all the best making your goals come true :)
Thank you so much, Celeste! I hope all your dreams will come true and you can reach all your goals!
DeleteI thought you were going back with him? Did you decide to stay a little longer? I'm sorry he had to make a detour to get home. I heard the northeastern US got hit with pretty heavy snowfall!
ReplyDeleteIt took David 38 hours to get back home. Such a nightmare! :) We are having some moving plans so things are a bit complicated right now! Hope it will change soon!
LG
Chrissy
Danke liebe Chrissy!
Finding a new place in 2014 certainly is a big one! My bookish 2014 is turning up rather stellar. I had three books arrive in the mail yesterday and can't wait to dive into all of them. And then there are the tomes I need to just plod through... so much reading, so little time!
ReplyDeleteI love it so much when books arrive in the mail! Or bring some new books home from the bookstore. Such happy feelings! I hope you enjoy all your new books!
DeleteI'm looking forward to do more reading. I hardly read that many books in 2013. and maybe do more drawing, like you I like doing craft things. somehow doing things by hand makes me happy.
ReplyDeletehope you get to do lots of fun things in 2014. happy new year!
happy new year to you as well. i hope all your dreams will come true and you will find lots of time for reading and drawing!
DeleteAw, I'm so sorry hun! I'd be pretty sad, too. I'm really glad you guys had a good time, though, and I'm sure you'll figure out a way to find a new home soon! I can't wait to hear about your new pet, whoever he/she may be. I wish you could adopt all the animals, because no one will give them a better home than you.
ReplyDeleteAlso no matter what, there's never enough time to read as much as we want! Sad fact of life...
I really hope we can figure things out soon! Thanks for your sweet words!
DeleteI wish I could adopt all animals....I am trying my best to make the bunnies and cats feel comfy here. :) Thanks so much!
And yeah, never enough time to read! :(
Have a great weekend!
Sounds like you have some great things to accomplish this year! Happy New Year and lots of luck with all your plans and goals!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Susi! Happy happy happy new year to you!
DeleteReading is one of my big goals this year! I hope you find an animal to save too.
ReplyDelete7% Solution
Hope you can find lots of time for reading! And I hope I can adopt another family member soon! :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAw, I hope you guys get to be together soon too. Cant imagine what its like to be apart from the hubs. Wherever you guys decide to move to im sure itll be somewhere with a ton of land haha. Love that you want to adopt a new pet. Truth is Ive been thinking the same thing but Gigi is super spoiled and id hate to see her jealous. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet words, Lin! It really sucks! We really need a place with lots of land. A castle in Ireland would be nice. With no neighbors at all! :) I am sure Gigi would get used to another family member. The cats are very spoiled as well and they accepted the bunnies pretty quick!
DeleteHappy New Year! I'm just waiting to start an adventurous 2014 :) Good luck with all your goals!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! Thank you so much for your sweet words and for stopping by! Hope 2014 will be fantastic for you!
DeleteThose are some great goals! I've been wanting to learn to crochet for a while but haven't got round to it yet.
ReplyDeleteI would love a pet, but it wouldn't be fair as the boy and I both work full time. I hate the idea of leaving an animal alone in our flat for 8 hours or more every day!
Yeah, I did not find the time to crochet either but hopefully that will work out at some point in 2014!
DeleteI don't like leaving the pets alone all day either. That is why I would not get a dog but the cats and bunnies can roam around and keep each other company.
Glad you decided to adopt!
ReplyDeleteDon't shop, adopt. :) Can't wait to adopt another pet! :)
DeleteThose are some pretty great things to look forward too! Me, I'm looking forward to everything new that's coming my way :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure your year will be very adventurous and exciting! Can't wait to read about it! Good luck with everything, mon amie!
