welcome to another Random Thursday with Lin, Em and me. Hope you are all doing fantastic.
I have to say that I am not really the "spring cleaner". I am trying to keep things organized all year round and I don't try to attempt to clean everything out in spring. But of course sometimes you get the "cleaning fever" and try to get rid of some things that piled up over the time. So here are some of the things I usually do in spring.
1. Receipts.
I usually keep receipts because I think that I might need them at some point. So not only my wallet is full of receipts but also my desk. But honestly, who cares if I bought a hand cream in November. I won't bring it back to the store.
2. Bathroom cabinet.
I tend to have more shampoos, body lotions etc than I need. So before buying something new I look through all the stuff in the cabinet, see what I can find and use that before I buy something I don't really need.
3. Winter clothes.
I know I am always cold but I probably won't wear my winter coat until September. So I store that kind of stuff and make space for my spring/summer wardrobe. Still need my warm socks though. All year round.
4. Spring cleaning for the soul.
Get rid of bad thoughts, try to think positive and concentrate on the good stuff. Try to laugh and be happy.
What are your spring cleaning tips? Please share!
Oh, as you probably guess I am an all the time cleaner! That last quote is so good, I will need to use it sometime :)
ReplyDeleteI thought you might like the last quote. :) And I agree, I am an all time cleaner myself.
DeleteI love that infographic.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Thanks so much for linking up!
DeleteI store my winter clothing as well. Honestly, it makes me happy not to have to see them for another 6 months!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. It is nice to be able to see and wear some of the spring/summer clothes and not have to worry about scarves and so on.
DeleteI'm not a spring cleaner either, I get that fever several times a year and then my apartment is turned upside down ;) I just need to go through everything and get rid of things that I don't need anymore. My only tip: Don't throw the things away, others might actually need them. So I like to take clothes and things to use around the house to our local red cross.
ReplyDeleteHave an amazing weekend sweet Katrin! Ich drücke Dich ganz dolle <3
Yeah, I feel the same way. Sometimes I just feel about cleaning and getting rid of stuff...but it does not have to be spring to do that. And I totally agree, I donate stuff like clothes etc.
DeleteHope you are doing fine, Ich drueck Dich ganz ganz dolle! <3
That's a good infographic! I keep way too many receipts also :P
ReplyDeleteI hate it when receipts pile up. There are always way too many!
DeleteI'm not much of a spring cleaner either. I prefer to keep things picked up and tidy all the time - clutter makes me restless! But I do try to deep clean the house in spring and fall - cleaning windows, baseboards, etc - all that stuff I generally ignore the rest of the year. :)
ReplyDeleteClutter can really drive you crazy. I don't feel comfortable when I have too much stuff around me. Then I need to start cleaning up. I agree, cleaning windows is definitely a thing I only do in spring or fall. I should definitely do it more often!

ReplyDelete1. Yes, I do, too! But they are stacked somewhere in colorful boxes. I need to organize them at some point.
2. I usually keep extra toiletries in the hallway closet - keeps things from being cluttered in the bathroom.
3. Same here, I store winter stuff in plastic containers and garment bags and plan to wear them again in September.
4. I’m doing the same as well, I was pretty emotional few days ago, but talking with someone made me feel better, yes it’s true, “get rid of bad thoughts, think positive and do something good, laugh and be happy”
It is always so annoying to organize the receipts so I usually wait until it gets really bad. Not a good idea.
DeleteI think I need to look for a space for extra toiletries as well. My bathroom is way too cluttered.
I hope everything is okay, Rika. I am glad to hear that talking to somebody made you feel better! I am thinking of you and I am sending lots of love! <3
I didn't do spring cleaning, but I've been in summer cleaning and organizing mode, which has been nice. It's been time consuming though (a few days in, the only 'finished' room is the bathroom although the bedroom and kitchen are almost there) so hopefully I can manage to keep it that way.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean! I cleaned up my bathroom closet last week and it was so much work! And took forever. But I am glad it is done now, it makes you feel so much better!
DeleteI totally agree with the tips you shared, Katrin! Most people want a clean environment, as seeing a messy house could trigger some stress. Well, it’s good thing that you liked to be organized most times. I particularly like last one in your list – about how a clean surrounding may give comfort to our souls, and that’s the most important thing. Thank you for sharing that! All the best to you and to your family!

Thank you for very much for your comment. I agree, I don't feel very comfortable when my place is messy. It's good to organize it once in a while. And a positive mind can do so much for you. I always try to concentrate on the good things. It isn't always easy but it cannot hurt to try! All the best for you!
