The one with the bookfessions.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and your Monday isn't too bad!
I have some confessions to make. About books. Bookfessions. (You can find a lot more of them here by the way).

Bookfession #1.

Bookfession #2.

When it's time to choose the next book to read, I'm always overwhelmed by the amount of options.

Bookfession #3.

Bookfession #4.

Sometimes, I love books more than I love people.

Bookfession #5.

Bookfession #6.

Bookfession #7.

When I visit people, I always end up looking through their books.

Bookfession #8.

Bookfession #9.

My favorite sound of the entire world is a book's page turning.

  2. #1, 2, 4, 5 - that's me too. although #5, I rather like rereading some of the scenes just so I didn't miss anything

    my bookfessions:
I get a little mad when authors, who I like, keeps coming out with bad books. I can't blame the authors as it really is hard to write a decent book.

when the book cover is so terrible, I refuse to read that certain copy until they release a decent cover - I judge a book by its cover, really, it's terrible, sometimes I think I miss out on good books because of it.

I've stopped borrowing books from the library. I admit it, I contributed to the demise of libraries, I'm sorry to say it's true!

that's my bookfessions. at least those I'm willing to share.

    have a sweet day!

    1. I get so disappointed when a book by one of my favorite authors isn't as good as expected!

And I totally judge a book by it's cover too. I have probably missed a couple of good books that way but I just can't stand an ugly cover!

Thanks for sharing your bookfessions, Lissa! Have a great day!

I've kept a list of all the books I have read since the end of 2005. I used to keep one for each year on Amazon's Listmania but apparently they're phasing it out so everything is on Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/7109985-amanda-papenfus

I'm not one of those people who think it's sacrilege to write in a book (unless you borrowed it), but aside from textbooks I always mark mine up in pencil so it can be erased if needbe.

Occasionally I read something that's become popular because I want to find out what the fuss is about. But when I read it and find out it's terrible, I keep reading because I get to think "If this can get published and become a bestseller, then there is hope for me".

Other than those occasions, I've started abandoning books that don't hold my interest. There are too many good books to read that I'm sure I'll never get through to waste time on too many bad ones.

    1. I love that you are so organized! I have always wanted to make a list like that too! I joined Goodreads too but I have only added around 100 books so far. I will check out yours!

I don't really mark the books I read, except of textbooks. I don't know why but I like it when they still look new. :)

Sometimes I check out the popular stuff too just because I am curious and not because the book sounds so interesting. For example, I read the first couple of pages of 50 Shades of Grey and it was so horrible that I stopped reading. I just can''t finish that! :) But otherwise I always try to finish books too!

And yeah, you really should not waste your time on bad books, there are so many good ones!

    2. It depends on the book. Fiction books I mostly don't mark up. But I read a lot of nonfiction and it turned out to be really good that I've marked up so many of the books that had to do with psychology because I've ended up being able to use the info in them in conferences for class. I never would have remembered where to find the info I needed if I hadn't underlined stuff.

    3. I agree, it really helps to mark important stuff in non-fiction books.

  5. Sometimes, I wish my commute to work was longer so I wouldn't have to put my book away!

I have a list of books I want to read... it just won't stop growing! It makes me sad that there are so many good books - and more being published all the time - that it will be physically impossible for me to read all of them in my lifetime.

The boyfriend wants me to get rid of some books because they're taking over. I would rather get rid of clothes... and fill my wardrobe with books!

    1. Haha, I totally feel like that too. I always hated it when I had to get off the train to go to work. I wanted to read some more!

My list won't stop growing either. I don't know when to read all of them. I guess I need to win the lottery so that I never have to work anymore. :)

Oh girl, I agree, I could never get rid of my books. Never ever. Just not possible!

  7. #1, #3 and #4 are like reading my mind!
Good books are hard to find and when you finally come across one, one you love with all your heart, turning the last page is pure hell. :(

    1. Glad you agree on those!
I read a lot of crime series and I hate to finish one of the books when I know that I have to wait for the next one to get published! :)

  9. I love bookfessions! I also agree with all of these. Particularly #2 (hence why I'm always reading about 8 at any one time - I can't decide), #4 (except fellow booklovers - them, I like), #6 (I may or may not have done this several times), #&, #8 and #10. I actually spent the weekend panicking about the fact that it took me 23 years of reading to get through about 550 books and my reading list is at about 1400 right now and growing every day (this is all according to my Goodreads list), so I have to pick up the pace or there's NO WAY I'll ever get through them all! There may have been a bit of a meltdown.

    1. Those bookfessions are so cool! I am thinking about my reading list a lot. There are so many books on the list and I have no idea when to read them all. I think I need to win the lottery soon so that I can concentrate on reading!

  10. OMG! I so do #1!! If I read a book that I'm really into I start reading slower at the end so the story doesn't end too soon. :)
