Confessions of a bookaholic.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Sunday is the perfect day for some excessive reading which is why I want to share some of my bookfessions with you.

1. I absolutely judge books by their covers.
2. I can spend hours browsing through a book store or the internet searching for more interesting books to read.
3. My to-be-read pile is huge. And I am adding more and more books.
4. I buy books even when I still have a lot waiting to be to read. It just feels so good. Especially when you buy used books for cheap.
5. I can go crazy at book flea markets. Last time I bought 19 books in one day. And that was just because I left at that point.
6. I am not the biggest fan of science fiction books. There are some exceptions though.
7. I hope this is me when I am old.

8. Sometimes I try to read books as slowly as possible. I just don't want them to end.
9. I always read several books at the same time.
10. I do not like to be interrupted when I read.
11. I never forget a publishing date of a book I want to read.
12. I do not like to lend my books. I make an exception when the person is another bookaholic I trust.
13. If I will ever be a ghost I want to haunt a library.
14. One of my bookshelves is reserved for only crime novels.
15. I love the smell of books.
16. I cry when animals get hurt in a book. But I do think that everybody should read "Eating Animals" by Jonathan Safran Foer.
17. The characters in the movies almost never look like I imagine them when I read the book.
18. You can never have too many books.
19. Books are my friends.
20. Looking at my books make me happy.

Are you a bookaholic? Do you have any bookfessions to make?
Have a fantastic week!

I have some confessions to make.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Saturday! I hope you can all enjoy the weekend. I will go to another flea market on Sunday so hopefully I can find some more books to buy.

Oh, most importantly: Happy International Rabbit Day! Tiffie and Findus are surely enjoying it. Give your bunnies some extra hugs. And please buy cruelty free and don't wear fur!

I confess....

... I currently eat marzipan on a daily basis.

... I love to eat at midnight.

... I do not work out as much as I want to right now.

... I could not stop myself from buying books this week.

... I know more facts about the tv show ER than I know facts about the stock market.

... I do not really care how exactly the stock market works. There are more interesting things in the world.

... I am thinking about doing an Icelandic language course.

... This video is so cute that I cannot stop watching.

... I do not care about most holidays but I like Halloween.

... I like poppy seeds way too much. When I bake then I always want to add them.

... I spent two hours sorting my crime novels last night.

... I have a bookshelf for my crime novels and the books are chronologically sorted by author.

... I also have a section for my Adrian Mole diaries, my Harry Potter books and all my vegan books.

... All my other books are not sorted at all. It's a mess.

... I have teapots which I never use. But they are fantastic decoration.

... I own lipstick but never use it.

Anything you want to confess? Have a fantastic weekend!

I confess...

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I haven't done this in a while and I think it is time to make some confessions...

Confession #1.

I am a bit proud of myself because I made a cake today which looks good AND tastes good. The one I made before only tasted good.

Confession #2.

I started crying this morning when I read the news that the Copenhagen Zoo killed a 18 month old baby giraffe who was perfectly healthy. Just because they say they have to avoid in-breeding. I have never heard such a bs before. The scientific director Bengt Holst (aka Dr. Evil) says that Marius' (the baby giraffe) genes  "were already well represented among giraffes at the zoo." Statements like this make me sick to my stomach. These zoos breed endangered animals just to kill them? They killed Marius by a bolt gun, not a lethel injection. That would have contaminated the meat...which they are planning to feed to other animals. I have signed a petition, I wrote to the zoo...and hearing these news just totally shocked me. The world is so sick. You can read more about it here
RIP little Marius.

Confession #3.

All this made me so angry and sad that I think I have nothing else to say today.

What do you have to confess?

I confess....

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is wonderful and you are all having a relaxed time.
I have some confessions to make....

1. Yes, I do sniff books. Books smell amazing. That's another reason why I like to spend so much time in book stores.

2. Last night I wanted to eat some of my vegan whipped cream but the can is broken and there was no whipped cream coming out of it. I got mad  because I  really wanted some whipped cream with my fruits.

3. I have some Lush bath bombs which I will never use because they look way too pretty. I put them in a bowl instead so that I am able to smell them all the time.

4. I am Katrin and I am a Criminal Minds addict.

5. I ate a whole pack of vegan sour gummi bears last night and I enjoyed every single one of it. I really have a sweet tooth.

6. I always listen to my Harry Potter audio books in the car.

Do you have any confessions to make?
Happy Sunday!

I confess....

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It is pretty cold over here but thankfully it's not raining so I can enjoy a nice walk in the woods. I just need to make sure to wear lots of layers. It's gloves and scarves time!
Sunday is also a great day for confessions. So here we go.

Confession #1.

I really am a book hoarder. The things is that I would never sell one of my books. I keep all of them. Which means that I still have all the books I got since my childhood. Plus all the books my Mom ever bought. And she loved reading as much as I do. I don't have space for all the books so some are in boxes in my Dad's house. I am glad that I am able to store them there. All my books are spread over two continents. I love every single one of them and at some point in my life I want to be able to have all of them in my huge library in my old castle.

Confession #2.

It is so sad that it does not even shock me anymore how ignorant and selfish and unwilling to help lots of people are. Sad sad world. But then it surprises me when they are people who care for each other, offer to help and are compassionate. There are just not many of them.

Confession #3.

Last night I woke up at 3 am so I started to watch an episode of "What Not To Wear". It was so relaxing and enjoyable that I am planning to do that more often.

Confession #4.

I am so excited for the return of The Walking Dead. I really missed seeing Daryl Dixon in action.

Do you have anything to confess? Have a fabulous Sunday!

The one with the bookfessions.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and your Monday isn't too bad!
I have some confessions to make. About books. Bookfessions. (You can find a lot more of them here by the way).

Bookfession #1.

Bookfession #2.

When it's time to choose the next book to read, I'm always overwhelmed by the amount of options.

Bookfession #3.

Bookfession #4.

Sometimes, I love books more than I love people.

Bookfession #5.

Bookfession #6.

Bookfession #7.

When I visit people, I always end up looking through their books.

Bookfession #8.

Bookfession #9.

My favorite sound of the entire world is a book's page turning.

Bookfession #10.

What are your bookfessions?

I confess...I was a bad ass child.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.
I thought my confessions today should have a theme...and because I don't have much else to confess at the moment I decided to do a little time travel and tell you some things about my childhood.

I would say I was almost as bad-ass as this pretty cool lion here. I was fearless and lawless, my life as a six-year old could not have been more dangerous. See for yourself.

Number 1.

I was a thief.

A pretty cold blooded one. I went to the hair dresser with my Mom. I had to wait. I got bored. I read a magazine. I found a cool iron-on picture in the magazine and decided that I would love to have a t-shirt with this bad ass kitty cat on it. Fearless as I was I got the picture out of the magazine with my sweaty hands and put it in my coat. I felt so adventurous.
When we got home I got so scared and felt so guilty that I started to cry and told my Mom everything. She laughed at me but let me bring it back the next day. They let me keep it.

Number 2.

I was a rowdy.

When I was in Grundschule (German elementary school) my friend Susi and I beat up the school bully together because he was always mean to a friend of us. Needless to say, we won.

Number 3.

I was dirty.

One of my best friends in Grundschule had a huge mud hole behind his house. We spent every afternoon in there. Every time my Dad picked me up from there he had to wrap me in a blanket because I was too dirty to be transported in the car without protection.

Number 4.

I was wounded.

I don't know how I did that but I always succeeded in hurting myself. I often came back home bleeding from several wounds. But I can proudly say that I never had a broken bone. A concussion, yes. But no broken bone.

Number 5.

I was fearless but not heartless.

I always loved animals and my parents and I offered our home to lots of homeless animals in need. I rescued a cat from an abusive guy in our town, a bird from the street. Animals rock.

Do you have something to confess? Happy Sunday!
