you can link up for Ten On Tuesday with my lovely friend Alyssa.
1. Dear Santa, here is my wish for Christmas. Please be so kind and let this be my gift. When you come by, you can have some vegan cookies and almond milk. Thank you.
2. I drives me crazy when I search for something and cannot find it. It happens way too often. Currently I am searching for some copies I made a while ago. I swear, I have a ghost living in my house.
3. I am in love with Abraxas the raven (from "Die kleine Hexe", a book from my childhood) and Archimedes the owl (from my favorite Disney movie "The Sword in the Stone"). Perfect pet names, by the way.
4. When I was a kid I wanted to be friends with a talking raven. Well, that would still be cool.
5. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed by all the books that are on my to-be-read-list that I have no idea what to read next. Which is why I always read several books at the same time.
6. I want to spend a lot of time there. It is just missing a fireplace and a globe bar.
7. Yesterday I bought a cozy white bathrobe which has a hood with teddy bear ears. It's so fluffy!
8. How beautiful are those sculptures carved out of books by artist Tomoko Takeda? You can find more of them here.
9. On my winter to-do-list (among lots of other things): knitting a scarf, doing a puzzle, start drawing again, bake a lot.
10. This is why I do not like Thanksgiving.
Have a good rest of the week!
I love knitting! What scarf pattern are you knitting?
ReplyDeleteHmm, that is a good question. ;) I honestly have no idea. I asked somebody to show me how to knit a scarf the easiest way possible and that is what I try. :) I guess I have a lot to learn!
DeleteHi Katrin
ReplyDeleteI wish I could knit! :P
The carved book looks really different and that turkey cartoon made me sad.
It is pointless to kill so many innocence animals in the name of a festival..
innocent* animals
ReplyDeleteWell, I am not good at knitting at all. I just started and somebody showed me how to do it but it does not look professional at all. But it's fun.
DeleteI agree. It is pointless and cruel!
Those book sculptures are really, really cool!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic idea!
DeleteOh I like the name Abraxas as well. Darnit, next horse
ReplyDeleteHaha glad you like the name too! The next two pets I adopt will clearly be named Abraxas and Archimedes!
Deletei can stay in no. 6 too!!! such a magical place
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cozy!
DeleteI've always thought Archimedes was a ridiculously cute owl :)
ReplyDeleteI always loved him so much! <3
DeleteVegan cookies and almond milk?! Haha, that would be cool to have a vegan Santa! :) The owl cartoon looks pissed but funny - haha, me too, I wanted to have talking animal friends! Robe with teddy bear ears - that’s so cute! The book carvings by Takeda are impressive and gorgeous, just saw them on http://www.boredpanda.com/book-carvings-tomoko-takeda/. I went grocery shopping the other day and saw a video about vegetarian-fed turkeys and it was just gross.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a vegan Santa. I am sure he would enjoy the yummy treats. Archimedes is such a cool owl! I love him! Have you seen the movie! It would be so great to have talking animals friends! :) The robe is so cozy, I could not resist! And yeah, that is where I saw those book carvings, so impressive! It makes me sick to think about the killing of all the poor creatures!
DeleteThanksgiving is my favorite holiday, but definitely not because of the turkey. ;) My grandmother is an excellent cook, but she's not much of a meat-eater, so our Thanksgivings are mostly bread and vegetables - my favorite! :) Now that we're in London, I have to attempt her recipes myself and they never turn out as good.
ReplyDeleteI guess every American loves Thanksgiving! :) It grosses me out that it is all about eating turkey! I am glad your family is different. I am sure your grandmother's cooking is delicious! I love bread and veggies! :) I am sure you are a great cook as well!
DeleteI love that bed by the bookshelf. That looks like heaven!! And better to have too many books to read than too few :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a terrific weekend my friend!!
Haha, that's true. It would be so sad to have no book to read!
DeleteHave a wonderful Sunday, Keith!
I had my love-hate relationship with thanksgiving until I found my own interpretation of it. It has a brutal history, but if we think about it, every holiday we celebrate has a brutal history, but we don't celebrate those aspects, we remember and celebrate that we are better now, and we will continue to give thanks for the wonderful life and continue to be better. At least that's what I do.
ReplyDeleteP.S, I love Archimedes! :-)
Archimedes is the best!
DeleteWhat I like about Thanksgiving is that families get together and have a good time. But the holiday is about being thankful and not about having the biggest turkey. You see turkey turkey turkey everywhere and I feel so horrible about all the cruelty and the innocent animals who have to die because of one holiday.
Oh, there are few things more luxurious than a fluffy bathrobe!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I love that thing so much. It's the fluffiest robe ever and I want to wear it all the time!
DeleteI want a globe bar too! haha! That nook looks perrrrfect. <3
ReplyDeleteGlobe bars are so fantastic! I need to find a vintage one!
DeleteWe're hopefully going to have a vegan Thanksgiving this Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI lose things in the house too. I don't know how, it's not even a very big house. :)
That sounds great! what will you make? Will you share some pictures? :)
DeleteI really have no idea what happens to these things! But I am glad I am not the only one!
