welcome to another Random Thursday with Lin, Em and me. Hope you are all having a fantastic week! Thanks for reading and being a part of this!
I think I prefer to swear in German since it sounds more natural to me. Also people don't understand me when I am only surrounded by English-speaking humans. Which can be a plus. When I meet people who want to learn German then they usually want to know about the swear words first. I guess it is the most important thing to know because you need to be aware when people say something bad about you.
So I would say my favorite swear word is....
"Heilige Scheiße"
Which means "holy shit". I know it is not a really bad one but I like the sound of it. I guess I also say "damn it " or "fuck" here and there.
So now please let me know: what is your favorite swear word? Either in English or in your mother language if you are not from an English speaking country. I would love to hear some new ones (no matter how bad they are).
Have a great Thursday!
Remember how I had that new year's resolution of not swearing as much? Yeah... unsuccessful so far. I love learning swear words in different languages - I think I've got them down in at least four so far (let's pretend it's a collection)
ReplyDeleteHehe, yeah I remember you saying that! Well, I think it is not the worst thing to do so don't feel bad about it. :) I am sure you have a great swear word collection in all the languages! :)
DeleteHa, this is funny. I guess my fave swear word is probably "Scheiße", it just comes out...haha.
ReplyDeleteScheiße is always a good one! :) Hugs!
DeleteThat's funny, because I say 'Scheiße' all the time too! I have to be a good girl and not swear at work (pretty hard for me--I have a potty mouth) so something no one else can understand is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteHaha that is so cool you use a German swear word! I love that! But yeah, I can imagine that you can't swear that much at work! So other languages seem to be the perfect solution!
DeleteMy favorite swear word is 'Picu' which is Slovakian. There is no way I would write it in English though! I just think it sounds cute, but it means something really bad!!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard that one before. I had to google it. :) But it definitely sounds cute!
Deleteahaha! yea holy shit is a good one too. It probably sounds cool in german.
ReplyDeleteI think German is a good swearing language. :) I like it!
DeleteI don't really have a favorite swear word and I don't much cursing but 'asshole' seems to come out if someone is especially rude. plus I really don't know that many curse words. you would think seeing how I live in New York, I would know a lot of curse words but I don't. which I think it's not a bad thing at all.
ReplyDeletehave a great day.
I don't do much cursing either but sometimes it is just necessary. :) haha, yeah, I would think that people in NY swear all the time. :)
Deletehave a great day!
I think I like to say what the hell a lot!!! But other than that..cannot think!
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is definitely a good one! I like it!
DeleteHaha love your choice!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI'm going to have to google what 'Heilige Scheiße' would sound like pronounced. When we were in Austria, I noticed some words with a 'ß' in them, and I don't even know what kind of sound that letter would make!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds pretty cool I would say! :) the ß is basically just like "ss". my last name has one it in too.
DeleteMy favorite swear word is a French one, I'd type it, but it's too naughty ;)
ReplyDeleteI am sure it is a good one, French swear words always sound great! :)
