welcome to another Random Thursday with Lin, Em and me. Thank you for reading and linking up. I hope you are all having a fantastic week.
The worst and most evil food in the world is obviously the onion because it comes directly from hell to make my life miserable. Onions are definitely the most terrible things in the whole wide world. They are disgusting to eat and the smell is horrible. Plus that texture. Ugh. I really really really hate them and when I go somewhere and people want to make me eat onions then I need to run away. Sorry but they really want to make me throw up.
And of course meat is one of the worst things I have ever eaten. And eggs and that kind of stuff. I honestly can't imagine anymore how I was ever able to eat meat. I ate my last piece meat a long long time ago but I did eat it back when I was a child and now that seems really really far away. Must have been someone else inside my body and not me.
Not my food adventure but very disgusting: my friends and I went to eat at the cafeteria of our university and my friend Barbara ordered some Mexican dish and after a couple of minutes of eating her face completely lost its color and she showed me some piece of meat she found on her plate...and there was black hair growing out of it. Long black hair. I assume they murdered the cook and this was his eyebrow but I don't know for sure. Another reason not to eat meat.
What is the worst thing you have ever eaten?
Hi Katrin
ReplyDeletei just love onions :P
I cannot have any meal without them!
I hate meat ...i cannot just stand it
the worst food I have ever eaten is mushroom soup..yuck :X
Hi Ankita, I will never understand how people can like onions. Haha. :)) But tastes are different! I love mushrooms but I don't have mushroom soup very often!
DeleteOhh, that's a really gross story! Poor friend of yours hehe
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever even tried them because I find them disgusting, but I think the worst thing I've eaten - if I ever have - are Spanish 'chorizo', 'salchichon', 'morcilla' and those kinds of traditional wurst made from ... well you know. I totally dislike Serrano ham as well (I'm a weird Spanish girl, I guess!)
Have a lovely day! LG
Yeah, it was really gross. I don't think she went on eating after that discovery. I have never tried those wuerste you mentioned either but they look pretty gross so I can understand that you don't like them even when you are Spanish. :)
DeleteHave a great day as well! <3
haha!
ReplyDeletei love onions, and i don't think i can stop eating meat.
I will never understand how people can like onions. Haha. :)
DeleteI once ate a really 'rare' steak and it almost turned me off meat completely...horrible stuff.
ReplyDeleteUh, I totally understand. That must have been really disgusting!
Delete"it comes directly from hell to make my life miserable" - LOL. Hilarious. I don't like onion, but I sometimes like onion-flavored things. Weird I know. As far as the worst food I've ever eaten, it has to be peas! I wouldn't eat another pea for a million dollars. Not even two million!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I am glad you don't like onions either! And I agree, I have tried onion flavored chips and they taste pretty good - but just because they don't taste or smell like onions at all! :) Haha, peas, that is so funny! I have never met anybody who hates peas that much. :)
DeleteI'm right there with you - I really, really hate onions - worst things ever, not only because I do not like the taste but also because I'm allergic to them, same goes for garlic and celery.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, that story is gross!
Last year I went for breakfast and they repeatedly brought me tomatoes that were black with mold - so disgusting!
Ich drücke Dich gaaaanz dolle, liebe Katrin :)
I am really really glad you agree with me, onions are so horrible. I will never understand how people can like them. :) I am sorry you are allergic to all these things!
DeleteIt was really gross! She stopped eating at that point!
Eww, mold! That is so disgusting! Can't believe it!
Ich druecke Dich ganz ganz dolle!
I hate asparagus. Don't even get me started on it - I've abhorred it since childhood and have never been able to get used to the taste
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I think it is so funny that people's tastes are so different. I know people who hate asparagus as well but I just love it so much!
Deleteomg that story is horrifying. Its funny how some people hate to eat things that I love. I actually love onions and meat. But all the other stuff I dont blame you for hating. Im hoping your friend got her money back after throwing up.
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah I guess a lot of people love to eat the stuff I hate. :) I think my friend just wanted to get out of there after such an experience. It really was disgusting!
DeleteI want to throw up just reading that story! Oh god. I would have puked and passed out for sure.
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't think of a "worst" food, aside from meat. I don't like most onions but I ate a curried lentil salad the other day that had purple/red sweet onions in it, and I actually didn't mind them. Surprisingly. I do like onion chips, too. Otherwise, no onions! I don't like the smell or the taste.
Yeah, it really was disgusting to see that. And I mean, she had it in her mouth. Ugh...
DeleteOnion chips really are the only onion related things I can eat. I don't know why I hate them so much. I am glad you did not mind them in your salad. It can be a bit annoying to hate them so much because you find them almost everywhere. :)
I hate oysters. And that hair story is vomit worthy yikesss
ReplyDeleteIt really is a disgusting story! I never tried oysters but i can imagine how they taste...
DeleteOmg, the eyebrow comment is beyond disgusting but I can't stop laughing! Girl, we could not me anymore different when it comes to food. I love everything you listed, with the exception of raw onion...I can only eat it when it's been cooked haha.
ReplyDeleteHaha I am glad I could make you laugh. It really was disgusting! :) Funny that you don't like raw onions but you like them otherwise. I think a lot of people love to eat the stuff I hate. :)
DeleteI can't stand raw oinions - if Jan's been eating them, I send him to brush his teeth. But I eat them chopped up small in sauces. My dad won't even eat onion in sauce, so he makes like spaghetti bolognese and chilli without onions.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing I've ever eaten is liver. It's like eating chalk. Bleurgh! Oh and sprouts. Those things are evil!
Oh yeah, I can imagine. The smell is so disgusting! I can't even eat them chopped up. So I guess I have that in common with you dad!
DeleteEww liver. That must be really bad. Never tried it. I do love brussel sprouts!
I think the worst thing I ever ate was pig ears!
ReplyDeleteYou ate pig ears? I have never heard about that! Where did you get them?
DeleteObviously meat, yuck.
ReplyDeleteAside from that onions and anything with licorice or fennel. Ugh, they have this thing called 'Drop' in holland, even the smell makes me sick!
I have never heard about Drop! But I can't stand fennel in food either. I do like fennel tea though!
DeleteI'm not a huge fan of onions either... The thing that comes to mind for me is sea urchin - I've tried it once but don't think I'll ever touch it again. Not my thing!!!
ReplyDeleteI did not even know that people eat sea urchin! I would not want to try it so I can understand how you feel about it. And onions really are evil!
DeleteOMG - that last story! Disgusting! :o(
ReplyDeleteSo how long have you been a vegetarian/vegan? Almost your whole life?
My grandfather loved onions so much that he would peel one, then sit at the table eating it RAW! I'm okay with onions as long as they're soft, but raw? Yikes.
Yeah, it really was disgusting! Glad I did not eat it!
DeleteI went vegetarian when I was 11 or 12 and then vegan a couple of years ago. 4 I think. Don't know what took me so long. Haha.
Eww, he ate them raw? Like an apple? Can't believe it!
I don’t like to eat raw onions, but I love them sauteed with potatoes, and they are really good together. I don’t like rosemary or any kinds of olives - how about you? I’ll never eat meat again and I wasn’t a huge meat eater during my early years. I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s dining experience, it has happened to me a few times. I’ve eaten all sorts of meals that use accidental ingredients (but most of them are at restaurants). I remember in the UK, there was this popular Asian restaurant with vegan options and they served me wonton noodle soup. And I could tell they were not vegan and so we left.
ReplyDeleteI really wish I would be able to eat onions like that since you find them almost everywhere but I just can't! I am fine with rosemary but I don't like olives as well. They have such a weird after-taste. I don't know. I try to avoid them as much as I can. Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about that soup! I am sure it was terrible!
