Draw My Life | A Pig In Today's World

Hallo meine Lieben,

today I would like to ask you to please watch this video and give it some thought. I think it is a very important video to educate about the cruelty of factory farming - without the horrifying pictures of the undercover investigations (if you want to see those, just watch Earthlings or other animal rights documentaries. They clearly opened my eyes.) We can all help to end the suffering of millions of farm animals.

Unfortunately, this is not how most pigs' lives look like. Not at all. And not just the pigs are suffering. Billions of animals around the world are suffering for meat, dairy products and also in the egg industry. And let's not forget about the animals suffering for entertainment (circuses, zoos, parks like Seaworld...).

Thank you very much for watching!

  1. There have been some recent undercover videos of Australian animals that were being exported for meat to certain countries being treated terribly. It even caused an emergency stop to exporting to Indonesia for a few months until a few slaughterhouses were closed or sanctioned. Terrible stuff.

    1. Yeah, I have read about these undercover videos. It's so horrible. I think I have seen buses in Australia which draw attention to the horrible conditions in which the animals have to "live". there are so many terrible things going on, it makes me so sad and mad and angry.

  2. Oh man, it always hurts my tummy to watch these videos. From the unhumane treatment to the harmful antibiotics and growth hormones they pump into these animals, I refuse to buy meat from factory farms. And since local small organic and pasture raised farms are EXPENSIVE, I'm rarely buying meat.. which my husband HATES! But he refuses to watch these videos!! Ugh! - www.domesticgeekgirl.com

    1. Thank you so much for watching. It hurts me as well but I think it is important to watch videos like this and share them because a lot of people are not aware of the cruelty. Maybe your husband will watch them too at some point. I understand that he might not want to know because that clearly ruins dinner.

  4. Oh my gosh :( This is so hard to watch. I just can't believe how human beings are able to treat animals like this!
I'm strongly against mass production of any kind of food, no matter if it's animals or plant based - but this opens my eyes even more to why I feel that way. Terrible! Human should be ashamed of themselves!
Thank you for always sharing such posts with us, Katrin. You make a difference!
Ich drücke Dich ganz ganz dolle! <3

    1. Thank you for watching, Beate. I know it is hard to watch but I think it is important to know and important to share. A lot of people are not aware of these things. And pretty much all the meat you can buy comes from conditions like these. It is so horrible.

  5. This makes me both sick and angry at the same time. It's an absolute outrage how these poor animals are treated. I can't believe that this is allowed to go on...

    1. Yeah, it is horrible and it is happening to probably 99% of the animals. People really need to stop buying meat because if there is demand then this will go on.

  6. Aw...sweet little piggies! I don't know how anyone can continue eating meat. Or say that there's nothing they can do. Cut the demand and the supply will naturally taper off.

    1. I really have no idea how people can continue eating meat. I never could. Or dairy or eggs. I guess people just ignore all the issues. Otherwise I really don't know. It's so easy to make a change!
