Oh...hey...yeah....hmm....it's me.

Hey meine Lieben,

yeah, it's me. I have not posted anything in an embarrassing amount of time but the plan is to finally write something again on a regular basis. No kidding. So I hope there are some of you left and maybe even happy to read me again. I am really fond of this blog of mine and I want to give it the attention it deserves, with a greater variety of topics. Also, there is a need to change this old design so I am hoping to find time for this soon. I really do not enjoy looking at my blog. But anyway, here I am. Life went on and I tried to keep up with your blogs at least but I have to admit that I am a bit behind on that as well. But I have not forgotten about you.

Things that are going on....

- I am currently reading "Will travel for vegan food" by Kristen Lajeunesse which is very inspiring to do something inspiring. Exactly what I need right now. I am truly enjoying this book because it's a mix of vegan food and traveling but the focus is much more on the traveling part which is a blessing in my opinion. I started this book a long time ago and had to give it a break but now I am back and almost done. Guess I will finish it today. Anybody interested in a review? Or book reviews in general? Not sure if I should give it a go.
Update - just finished the book and loved it very very much.

- I am weirdly fascinated by the announcement of the Full House reunion. I feel like I have to watch it once it is on tv. I truly loved that show as a kid although Stephanie was always pretty annoying....but at least there was Kimmy. And Comet, the dog.

- I feel like I will have to buy a new laptop in the new future. Not really excited about this.
I also need a new printer. Electronic devices do not like me very much.

- There's a tiny brown mouse living in my backyard and once it gets dark, she comes out to get some cat food out of the bowl for the neighborhood cats. I can watch her for hours carrying cat food to her hiding place. I provided some mouse-appropriate food though. I don't think cat food is the best diet for a mouse. I named her Bertha.

- I have not worn dungarees in many years but I feel like I want to wear one again.

- My pile of books to read is growing and growing. Also thanks to my wonderful and thoughtful friends ErinMartha and Em. I love you guys!

- I am considering to cut my hair off again. A final decision has not been made yet.

- I love discovering new vegan goodies so I recently tried some all vegan Prinzenrolle-like cookies (basically two round cookies with a chocolate cream in the middle), vish filet (so good that I wanted to buy more but they were all sold out!), rice milk quinoa chocolate, a frozen curry (I usually do not eat frozen meals at all but I had to try this one. Never saw a vegan frozen meal in the store before), peppermint chocolate (a combination I usually do not even like but the package looked great), some nugget-y kind of things....seeing the large vegan selection in the stores nowadays really makes me happy.

- I need one of these vacuum cleaner robot things. I always get excited when I see them.

So, what's new with you? Read you soon - I promise.

  1. don't worry about not blogging, I think you should post when you want to, I think that is best but it's good to read a new post from you.

I used to watch full house too but I always the ending to be a bit too sugarly sweet especially with the music but I've always DJ and her friend Kimmy, don't know if I'll watch the new show though.

well, I hope your summer is going well, have a lovely day.

    1. Thank you, Lissa. You are so kind. I never took such a long blogging break before so it is hard not to feel bad about it. I really hope I can post more often from now on.

You are absolutely right about Full House. It is definitely too sweet and sugarly sometimes. But it gives me a warm feeling which reminds me of my childhood so I enjoy watching it.

Hope you are having a great week!

  3. I'm still here and happy to read you again. I just saw a recipe for vegan brownies using avocados. I love brownies, animals, and avocados, so I think this will be my new brownie recipe :)

    1. Aww, you are so sweet! Thank you very much! I never made brownies using avocados! I never really used avocados at all! It is a shame, I know! Did you try the recipe? Would you mind sharing it with me? :)

    1. The laptop really starts to get annoying. Everything is so slow. But maybe there is something can do to fix it. I don't know...

  5. My dungarees are waiting in the post, will go pick my pack later today and most probably it'll become a uniform for the days to come, when baby outing is needed. I would also like to change the "face" of my blog, but that means new logo, posts cleaning.. not really time for that now..

  7. I had one of those vacuum cleaner robots, not worth it. They can't keep up with cat fur at all!!

I recently bought a new laptop and I am very happy with it, but it was a long decision. If you need help choosing something pop me an e-mail! So many people buy laptops that are 'good' but aren't what they need - for example...the average person really doesn't need a MacBook Pro except to look cool working behind it in a coffee shop..

    1. Oh no, I thought they were supposed to be so good! I really had a lot of hope in these robots! That's a shame!

I can imagine it was hard to make a decision. I will definitely come back to you! Thanks for offering your help! It is difficult to decide what to get. I would love to have a macbook but not the pro version. But I don't know anything about laptops so I really have no idea what to look for! :)

  8. I also have a big pile of books waiting for me these days, wish I had more free time to go through it! Will Travel for Vegan Food sounds like an interesting read :)

I think it is perfectly fine to have quiet blogging periods. I also struggled at first with the idea of neglecting my blog only for a month. But now I've learned that it's ok. Sometimes life just get in between and it is actually more rewarding to pay attention at what's going on offline than keeping up with blogging. So take your time and enjoy :)

    1. Will Travel For Vegan food is definitely a pretty interesting read. I wish there would be more details though. Sometimes I feel like she cut it a little short! Hope you can read all the books on your pile.

Yeah, it is definitely fine to take a blogging break once in a while. But now I really feel like I want to put some more work into my blog again. I have some ideas and things I want to change. I just need to actually find the time to do all the things!

  12. I love that you're concerned about the proper diet of the little mouse. You're a sweet soul Katrin. Also, Stephanie annoyed the crap out of me. Just thinking about her now I want to punch her in the ear.

    1. Aww, you are so sweet, thank you so much. Your words really mean a lot to me!
I watched a couple of Full House episodes now and I still find Stephanie as annoying as before! She really deserves to be punched! :)

  13. Somehow the part about the little mouse who is storing away cat food grabbed all the attention. When you give them a name, they seem so much friendlier.

I have been planning to buy a super-zoom camera, but havent yet found the right one in stores. :)
