My penguin-self, a candy lane and dating shows.

Hallo meine Lieben,

yes, I know, I am too late for Ten On Tuesday but you can check out Alyssa's post here. Hope you are all having a fantastic week.

1.True story. Sometimes easy to forget.

2. I might have to move to Robbie Williams' hometown Stoke-on-Trent. Why? Because Robbie's 40th birthday will be next month and the town will celebrate it by naming three roads in a new housing development after his tracks Angels, Candy and Supreme. I decided that I want to live in Candy Lane.

3. I still can't believe that Robbie Williams isn't more popular in America. And that nobody cared for Take That but for N'Sync instead. Come on, America!

4. You can find my penguin-self here. Poor little guy! I feel you!

5. There are lots of reasons not to wear wool. I guess the main reason is the animal cruelty but did you know that sheep don't need to be shorn? People are mistakenly led to believe that ‘sheep need to be shorn.’ Truth is that Sheep naturally produce only the amount of wool they need to protect themselves from extreme weather conditions.

6. Have I ever mentioned that it's my dream to live with sheep, donkeys, chicken, cows, pigs....It would make me so happy.

7. I finally started to work out again. Yes. It is true. And I want to stick to it. Now I just need to get over the fact that it is too cold to go running. And get a yoga mat and weights.

8. I am really enjoying Instagram right now. My user name is Katrin_locc if you want to add me.

9. A girl who went to my school will be on a terrible German dating show. I can't wait to watch it with my friends and make fun of her. Mean, I know. But I guess you have to expect it when you take part in a shitty dating show.

10. Next new recipe I want to try out is a vegan risotto. Any recommendations? Do you like risotto? What cheese do you use?

And what is your favorite meal right now? Please share, I need some inspiration!

Have a great Wednesday!

  1. Oh, I had to laugh when I read about moving to Candy Lane hehe sounds so lovely :)
I wish I could get over how cold to is to go out running but I can't. Ironically that's the only time I say that it is too cold because other than that this winter is being really mild in Europe ... I'm hoping to see some snow in February but it doesn't seem likely.

I love my risotto with mushrooms and courgette but as I'm not vegan I add grana padano cheese or similar. Every other ingredient in the recipe is vegan-friendly :)

    Have a lovely day! LG

    1. I am sure living in Candy Lane would be awesome. :)
I don't know if there will be snow but it is still too cold for me to get motivated to go running outside!
Your risotto sounds yummy! :) Thank you! What else is in there? Do you use wine? I will try to make it with vegan cheese!

      Have a lovely evening! LG!

  2. Hej,
whaaat, on a German dating show!? :-D Which one do you mean? "The Bachelor"?
Hmm, and I would like to live in Candy Lane, as well, we could be neigbors, you know?! :-)
Then, you know, that I am kind of an Instragram addict, I think, that's the best word, how to say it.
Well, I like Risotto, but if I would do it vegan, I would just skip the cheese, as it is very hard to find vegan cheese over here, for a creamier taste I would use soya cream or so. And I would combine it with nice veggies, mushrooms, leek and asparagus.
    Have a nice day!

    1. It's not The Bachelor. It is a new show on RTL, I think it will start in February. "Allein unter Palmen" or something like that!
I love to follow you on Instagram! :)
I guess I will try it with some vegan cheese. I am not sure if that works but I will definitely use some soy cream! Thank you!
      Have a nice day!

  3. 1. Very true!
    6. When I was little and thought for some reason I'd never get married I said I wanted to live on a ranch with ONLY cats and dogs. 10 dogs and 17 cats to be exact.
    7. I'm not much for exercise but I've done yoga a couple of times and really liked it! I have the perfect place in the living room to do it!
    10. Risotto. Yum. A friend made it for me once. Oh my stars so good.
Thank you for being a faithful linkuper! (That's definitely not a word.)
    9. That's so funny. I'd make fun of her too.

  5. I love risotto!! The best one I ever had was at the London airport, believe it or not. It was a mint risotto and I've thought about it often ever since I had it! Ha!

I have no idea who Robbie Williams is. But I also didn't like N'Sync, if that makes it any better. ;o)

    1. That's so funny you had the best risotto at the airport! You would not think that. :) I really need to give it a try.

I can't believe that Americans don't know Robbie Williams. It's a shame. But glad you did not like N'Sync. :)

  7. 4. That poor little penguin!!!! I want to cuddle him. :( I can't figure out if his friends are making a sympathetic noise or laughing at him!

    5. I actually didn't know that either!

    9. That's awful, but hilarious! I hate those shows! The people on them are always so self-absorbed and shallow and mean. They deserve to be laughed at!

    1. I want to cuddle him too! I feel so bad for him because the same would happen to me. I wondered about that as well! Hope it is a sympathetic noise. I am sure it is because animals are friendly and compassionate. :)

Those people definitely deserved to be laughed at. I am sure it will be entertaining!

  11. Vegan risotto is yum! I don’t use cheese in my risotto, you can also use a soy creamer to provide a creamy base.

  13. Robbie Williams is pretty huge in Argentina, too ;) .America is so weird when it comes to music! I guess radio stations are ruled by the main records companies because some great songs by not so popular (at least here) artists never get played :(. Bands such as Placebo and Belle Sebastian very rarely get played on the radio. I don't think I've ever heard Camera Obscura, Kings of Convenience ... here. They are always playing the same old shit.

    1. Yay! I am so glad he is famous in Argentina too! :)) I can't believe that people don't know him in America! And you are right about the radio stations. Most of them only play weird music. It is the same in Germany! That is why I never listen to the radio.....:)
