Five Things. A vegan serial killer joke, book love and coziness.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend and you don't need to go to the stores to get some Christmas presents anymore. It is crazy out there.
Go and check out my friend Celeste's Five Things as well. She is wonderful!

1. This book.

A new crime series I discovered. And it is not Scandinavian! The main guy is a German cop who lives in Berlin. I don't think that I have read many German crime novels so this is new to me. Hope it will be fantastic. It definitely sounds like it. I will also finally check out the Camilla Läckberg crime novels.

2. This series.

You must love Hagrid. I am currently obsessed with the audio books and listen to them as much as I can. It is also time for a Harry Potter movie marathon again. Need to do that on a regular basis and I don't think that I will ever get sick of them.

3. Something to laugh.

One of my favorite movies. I mean, come on, serial killers! My Mom introduced me to this movie so every time I watch it, it reminds me of her. She loved crime as much as I do. I got my love for Scandinavian crime novels from her.

4. This DIY.

This is on my to-do-list for spring. Such a pretty idea. I don't think I will use it for flowers...I am sure I can find some other use for it. But it is a good inspiration. I definitely want to do some more crafty things in 2014. I did not find enough time for it in 2013.

5. This living room.

Oh yes, I could get used to this. I love huge sofas, I would just need more space for my books. But that place does look comfy. I would love to re-decorate. I have so many ideas, I just need to start somewhere. I am sure David would love this sofa too. There is nothing better than spending an evening on the couch with your loved ones (including furry ones), a cup of tea and a good book/show/movie.

Happy weekend everybody!

Five Things. A vegan burger, a crafty magazine and the perfect boots.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday!
Please go over and check out my friend Celeste's Five Things.

1. This magazine.

I think I have already mentioned it before but I really love magazines. Especially the ones about food, science and being creative. Mollie Makes is a fantastic magazine and the best thing is that you get 50% off of all the older digital issues right now. Needless to say, but I ordered two this morning. Can't wait to get crafty.

2. This giveaway.

You can win a collection of fantastic eye shadows on my friend Martha's blog. The giveaway is open internationally. You can enter here

3. This burger.

Except of the onions, of course. Brr, I hate them! But that's a smoked chickpea burger and I am definitely planning to make one of them myself. Because chickpeas are one of my most favorite vegetables.

4. These boots.

Aren't they perfect? Oh, I am so in love. I would love to own these cute little boots. They are from Stella McCartney which means that they are vegan. Maybe I can find a similar pair which is not 610 dollars.

5. This  book.

I am constantly searching for new crime novels to read and I recently discovered a Swedish crime series written by Lars Kepler (a pseudonym for a Swedish husband and wife) and the books sound so fascinating. Seriously, Scandinavian crime is the best.
Here is what is it about according to Goodreads:
"In the frigid clime of Tumba, Sweden, a gruesome triple homicide attracts the interest of Detective Inspector Joona Linna, who demands to investigate the murders. The killer is still at large, and there’s only one surviving witness—the boy whose family was killed before his eyes. Whoever committed the crimes wanted this boy to die: he’s suffered more than one hundred knife wounds and lapsed into a state of shock. Desperate for information, Linna sees only one option: hypnotism. He enlists Dr. Erik Maria Bark to mesmerize the boy, hoping to discover the killer through his eyes."
I have to check it out!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Random Thursday. DIY project.

Hallo meine Lieben,

how is your week going? We're having some interesting weather here in Ohio...lots of rain, storms, sometimes even sunshine.
It's time for another Random Thursday with these girls.

And this is the topic.

The thing is that I love DIY projects but haven't taken the time to do anything in months (except of some drawing and painting). It is a shame because there was a time when I did something creative at least each week. So yeah, it kind of makes me sad that I don't find the time to do more of the things I enjoy right  now. I know that I should take the time but there are always "more important" things to do which just isn't right because the things I enjoy should be the most important things to do. Well, I don't want to go on about this so instead I will share an idea for a DIY project with you.

My DIY book shelf idea.

I built a book shelf probably 10 years ago and I really enjoy that kind of work so I want more! You need some wine boxes, similar to this one. I would say 12 should do it.

Then you paint the bottom of of each wine box in any color you like. I would probably use 2 different colors. Probably a dark grey and white.
Then you arrange the boxes the way you want the book shelf to look at the end.  I think I would use 4 as the bottom, then 3 for the next row and then another row of 4 and then 2 on the top. Which shows me that I need 1 more box. So you need 13 boxes.
Then you need a hammer and some nails to but all the boxes together.
And in the end it should look similar to this, but without the TV in the middle.

As you can see, I am in desperate need for some more book shelves.
This is my next project. What's yours?

Oh, and I am still working on the scarf I started months ago. Maybe I can finish it until autumn.

Have a wonderful Thursday!
