Random Thursday. Favorite thing about my Mom...

Hallo meine Lieben,

time for another Random Thursday with LinEm and me. Hope you are all having a great time.

I guess many of you know that I lost my Mom so for me Mother's Day is always a weird day. I do not want to look at all the Mother's Day gift guys you see around because all I can do is to bring some flowers or pottery things to the cemetery. But I do have a lot of great memories about my mom and of course there are many favorite things about her.

We shared the love for food.

So here are some of my favorite things about my Mom....

- she was the best cook. Of course. Moms always are. She always cooked my favorite things.
- she was the funniest person.
- she had the best advice and I could talk to her about anything.
- she loved animals and we rescued many in need together.
- she was always there for others, no matter what.
- she was a bookworm.
- she always spoke her mind.
- she was my rock.
- she loved going to flea markets. And visit old cemeteries. Museums. Libraries. Castles.
- she loved to wear red lipstick.
- she loved gardening.
- she was so smart and knew so many things.
- we always watched a stupid show together during lunch when I came home from school.
- she was such a talented painter and drawer.
- she always encouraged me.
- she was the best and I miss her a lot.

What's your favorite thing about your mom? Please share!

  1. This is such an amazing post! Your mom was a beautiful soul. Looking at what you wrote about her, I can see you, sweet Katrin. You love food, you deeply care about animals, you're a great bookworm and very, very smart, you are very caring and always there for everybody else, always making us smile here with your kindness and wonderful words.
I can only imagine how much you must miss your mom and how weird Mother's Day must feel. But I'm sure, your Mom is watching you, and on Mother's Day she'll be even closer to you than she already is. She must be so incredibly proud of the wonderful woman that you've become. I know I said that before, but I strongly believe it is true.
Ich drücke Dich ganz, ganz, ganz feste, liebe Katrin <3

  2. Awww, it looks like you really learned a lot of great things from your mum. It's wonderful that the time that you had together was so happy and full of love.

I know mothers day can be hard, when I was at school we would do arts and crafts for mothers day and I would just sit with a book or make a card for the teacher. People with great mothers should appreciate them every day!

But I am so thankful for a mom like that because I know that not everyday is so lucky. I am sorry that you were not that lucky. You definitely deserve the best!
