The one with the vegan cookie monster a.k.a. sweets I admire deeply.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I confess: I love sweets. A whole lot. Even more in winter time. All the lovely baked goods are just way too tempting. And as a vegan you can find even better sweets than the regular ones. Because: no cruelty involve. Who would not prefer that? Nobody. Which is why I want to share my favorite sweets with you today.

Zero Zebra chocolate.

I don't even know where to start. Vegan, fair trade, organic. Made with rice milk. The only sad thing: I always feel bad about eating them because they come in such cute animal shapes. But fear not, they also have chocolate bars that you do not feel sorry about.

Vego Bar.

Oh, Vego Bar...my dear friend. You come in a handy 150g bar which is way too tempting to eat in one sitting. Filled with yummy hazelnuts, you will always be my dear companion. Thank you for existing.

Chocolate peanut butter.

I know you are supposed to eat it with bread but it tastes even better directly out of the jar. And all you need is a spoon. This stuff is seriously good. I did not even like peanut butter that much before I tried this.

Manner Schnitten.

I love it when stuff is "accidentally vegan". And a lot of the Manner stuff is. Be aware, not all of their products are suitable for vegans but they state it on their website which is pretty nice. Can't get enough of those wafers.

Naturata chocolate, the vegan kind.

Not all the chocolates from that company are vegan but a lot of them are. I prefer the almond one. It is seriously so good. I swear you do not want cow milk chocolate anymore if you try this.

Goody Good Stuff and Surf Sweets.

I have no idea why people still eat gummi bears that contain gelatin. I mean, if you ever looked up what gelatin is then you might want to switch to a vegan version. My friend Martha surprised me with Surf Sweets gummi bears and they were delicious. When I open a bag then it will be empty in 15 minutes, max.

Dandies Marshmallows.

Fun fact: I never had marshmallows before I went vegan. I always wanted to try marshmallows but was never able to find some without gelatin. And then my friend Em send me some and I was addicted.

Earth Balance stuff.

This sounded kind of gross to me at first because it has cheddar flavor but I was also fascinated and had to try it. And it did not disappoint. Good stuff. Never even liked popcorn very much before I tried this.

So Delicious Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

It is vegan, it is ice cream and I can eat ice cream three times a day so I do not need to say more.

Also, I really love Marzipan dearly. It is very popular in Germany, especially at Christmas time and I do prefer it in potato shape or covered with dark chocolate. I also need to mention that there is a vegan version of a famous coconut chocolate bar. It is called Mahalo and pretty delicious.
Well, pudding is always a good idea as well. And cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes...
You can clearly see two things here: I have a huge sweet tooth and there are lot of vegan options for people with that kind of sweet tooth.

What's your favorite candy? Happy weekend.

  3. Oh, I want that popcorn now!!

I have noticed more and more vegan options in the bakery here which makes me really happy. Yesterday I found vegan chocolate cake at the local coffee shop. Normally I prefer salt to sweet but the occasional cupcake is always nice!

  4. I don't really like sweets much but once in a while I like some strawberry-favor twizzler or lifesavers candies, and mint chocolate is always a favorite, also candy canes - I guess they come in different favors now but I usually like the mint kind. of cause, I couldn't really eat too much sweets at once or else I'll get sick of it.

I hope you have a sweet day.

    1. Haha, i am so sorry, Sarah! I hope you were able to find something sweet! I always try to have a little something in the house. You never know when you start to crave something sweet. But then the problem is that you have those cravings a lot! And yes, love that popcorn so much! Glad you agree!

  8. I love sweets too and especially the wafers. So so good!!! We have so much stuff in the sweets department right now. My aunt and uncle were here over Thanksgiving and my sister is here right now, and they all brought lots of goodies from Germany for us. On top of that we've gotten a few packages as well... It's a free for all. :)

  10. I don't stick to a vegan diet but I LOVE vegan food products.. they are always made and prepared so much more thoughtfully, artfully, and with superior ingredients. My husband thinks I'm insane, how much vegan things I stock our house with when he is a very firm carnivore. Lol!

Anyhoo, I found your blog through a fellow blogger and thought I would stop by and say hi! I would love it if you stopped by my blog sometime and kept in touch! Happy New Year! - www.domesticgeekgirl.com

    1. You are so right, the ingredients in most vegan products are so much better than all the stuff they hide in conventional products. Sometimes it really makes me sick to see what people eat without even knowing it. Sorry that your husband thinks you are insane! I think it is great that you eat so many vegan products!

Thank you so much for stooping by, it really means a lot! I will definitely check out your blog! Have a happy new year! <3

    2. We're trying VERY hard to switch to only whole and minimally processed foods, and we are avoiding GMO's, trying to go organic when possible, and I am going out of my way to make sure the food is sourced ethically via fair trade. Sooooo, yeah. Vegan is pretty much what I end up buying, lol! Even my prenatal vitamins are vegan!

And what we can't find locally, we're making efforts to supply for ourselves in our little backyard homestead. For instance, the nearest organic raw goat milk dairy is over two hour drive from us. (I cannot produce breast milk, and the best human milk substitute for infants is raw goat milk.) Soooo.. I went out and bought a dairy goat that I milk twice a day now.. haha!

Love your list. I'll make a point to keep an eye out for some of these goodies in the future!!

    3. I love that you are making such an effort to avoid GMO's and all that crap. A lot of people just don't care what they eat or do not think about it and that makes me really sad. And of course I am always happy when people eat vegan food and see that there are lots of options for vegans and that you can eat more than grass and oatmeal. :)

You have a goat? Oh that is so sweet. My dream is to live somewhere with lots of animals at some point in my life. Cats, dogs, bunnies, goats, sheep, chicken, pigs, donkeys....:) It would be a dream come true!

Hope you can find some of these, they are all very delicious!

  11. Hehe, you are one true vegan cookie monster! I adore sweets as long as they have something salty or something else in them, but not for breakfast. These Manners are yum, and have you tried these spicy mango lollipops from YumEarth Organics?! They are so good! Funny, I’ve never had vegan marshmellows when I went vegan…I need to give them a try! Tons of favorite candies here…I love Cocomels http://jjssweets.com and YumEarth Organics lollipops!
