Food and books - Five Things.

Hallo meine Lieben,

hope you are having a fantastic weekend! It's raining over here so I am spending my time reading and cleaning and reading and playing with the pets. And reading.

Check out my friend Celeste's Five Things as well.

1.This "Nussecke".

I can't even tell you how excited I was when I found a vegan Nussecke in the bakery this morning. It'a a pastry made of nuts and chocolate and oats and it tastes so delicious. It's so rich that I could only eat half the thing so far which is surprising because I can usually eat a lot.

2. This syrup.

I also discovered this vegan chocolate syrup this morning and I could not resist. I mean, hello...everybody loves chocolate syrup and you can use it for ice-cream, in your Müsli, in your yogurt, with your pancakes....I love the fact that it only has 3 ingredients: agave syrup, cocoa pasta and sunflower oil.

3. This book.

A new Icelandic crime novel! I can hardly wait! There will also be a new book by Arnaldur Indriðason in January.

4. This book shelf idea.

The more books you own, the more shelves you need. So I guess I need to get creative because I don't have my own castle with huge library yet. I need more storage space for my books, that's for sure. And I think this is a fantastic idea.

5. This pie.

Oh my goodness....a chocolate pudding pie. I think I could eat the whole thing right now. I am searching for some new vegan baking recipes right now and stumbled upon this awesomeness. I will definitely try to bake this pie. And eat it all alone.  You can find the recipe here.

I hope you guys are having a fantastic weekend!

I think I need to pick up an Icelandic crime novel before my trip to Iceland. I consider you to be the expert on Icelandic crime novels so maybe you can tell me your favorite?

    1. Yeah, definitely. :) Well, I like food.
Sure I can recommend you some Icelandic crime novels. I think my favorites are the ones by Arnaldur Indridason. His books are all good but I liked "Voices" a lot. "Jar City" is also one of my favorites.
And I also like the Sigurdardottir books, "Someone to watch over me" is probably my favorite!

  7. I'm heading to the Antique Fair in San Telmo neighborhood in Buenos Aires in a bit. I can't wait to discover few more antique kitchen necesities for food photo styling plus explore more of the neighborhood. I've been staying in nearly all week here - trying to be productive with work and of course catching up with last year's travel posts.

The pastry reminds me of a lot of vegan Austrian pastries I have tried. Have you tried Bernds Welt? They make amazing vegan pastries that taste nearly authentic as the real ones (probably the best pastries I had around the world). Here is the link: http://www.veganmiam.com/?s=bernds+welt

    Enjoy your weekend, Katrin!

      Have a great week!
