The one with the pangolins, scones and murder mysteries. {Ten On Tuesday}

Hallo meine Lieben,

you can link up with my friend Alyssa here.

1. I went to the bookstore today and found a gazillion more books to add to my reading list. There are just way too many books I am interested in and not enough time to read them all. Sad.

2. Have you read the crime novels by Stuart MacBride? If so, do you like them? I discovered that series in the store today and have no idea why I never checked it out before.

3. I am dying because of all the cuteness.

4. I had a seitan roast on Sunday and it was delicious. I also spilled a whole glass of red wine over a brand new table cloth.

5. Today is World Elephant Day. Elephants are faced by several threats and they need our help and protection.

6. When I go to the bookstore I take pictures of all the covers of the books I want to read so that I can remember to get those books at some point. Am I the only one or is that a normal thing to do? I never see other people doing it.

7. I had peanut and truffle ice cream today and it was delicious. Even the ice cream cone was vegan so you cannot really ask for more.

8. I realized that I never had scones in my entire life so I will bake some vegan apricot ones soon. I have no idea what to expect. I would like to know: what is your favorite pastry/cake/cookie/pie etc.?

9. After finishing the 30 Day Shred I still feel like working out. Not necessarily every day single day of the week but at least a couple of times. I hope this feeling won't stop anytime soon.

10. I confess that I have an unhealthy addiction to the TV show Chicago Fire.

Have a fantastic rest of the week!

    1. 3. Pangolins! :) Aren't they cute? I am so in love with them!
      6. I am glad I am not the only one who takes pictures at the book store!
      8. Peanut butter cake sounds awesome! :) Now I want some too. I only bake easier recipes and that works out fine most of the time. :)
      10. Yes, he is! :)

  3. I think time should always stand still whenever we read the book so we can enjoy all the books we want throughout our lives :) And taking pics of the books you want to read is absolutely fine! I do that, too ;)
I always love those Cute Overload pictures you share! :)
I want peanut and truffle ice-cream now, please! That sounds delicious.
I love baking anything that has a muffin form and contains LOTS of chocolate. My all time favorite is a cherry-chocolate-muffin.
Ich drücke Dich ganz feste und hoffe, es geht Dir gut, liebste Katrin! <3

    1. I agree, we need more time for books. There are just so many great ones so the universe needs to give us enough time to read all of them! I am glad you take pictures of books in the store too. :) I always feel weird doing it!
I love Cute Overload, there are always so many great pictures!
The ice cream was fantastic! I want more!

      6. I always feel weird when I do it. I don't know. But it helps me to remember all the books I want to read!

  5. Peanut and truffle ice cream? I'm intrigued!! And I actually think taking photos of the book covers is a good idea - otherwise you may forget half of them (or at least I would). Have a great Wednesday!

I really hope the scones will turn out great! I am excited to try them!
Hmm, that's weird no one knows!

  7. I've never heard of pangolins before! How cute! And no, you aren't the only one who takes pictures of books. I have to, otherwise I would forget to add them to my "to be read" list when I get home. Do it in the library too, if I have no more room in my book bag! :)

Scones are AMAZING! My mom makes cranberry-orange scones. Hot, with lots of butter, and a big cup of tea on the side...yum yum yum. I've never tried making them myself but I suppose I should remedy that!

    1. Aren't they cute? I love pangolins so much! There are so many cute animals out there! :) And I am so glad you take pictures of books too! I always feel so weird when I do that. But I would have to write down the names of the books otherwise so this is much faster!

Your moms scones sound delicious! :) Can you give me the recipe? :)) I really never ever had scones and I think I should change this as soon as possible! probably this weekend!

  9. I love elephants and it always makes me so sad to see them slaughtered for their tusks. :( Also, I take pictures of many things that I don't want to forget about! And scones are pretty fantastic especially with a cup of tea! :)

    1. It makes me sad too. And angry! Humans can be so cruel and horrible! I am glad I am not the only one who takes pictures all the time! I am planning on baking scones this weekend and I will have a cup of tea with them! Thanks!

  10. Taking pictures of the books is SUCH a good idea! Why have I never thought of that?! I always end up googling whatever I remember of the plot to try and find them again :-D

    1. Haha, I don't know. I always felt like that is the quickest and easiest option. I don't want to write every title down. And otherwise I just forget half the books I want to read!

  11. Instead of taking pictures, I load the books to my Goodreads account (yay for the barcode scanning function)

  12. Nr. 2 - if there's crime, I'm in, though I haven't heard of that author, must check! We're into John Sandford nowadays.

    1. I haven't read John Sandford yet! Will check the books out, thanks for the recommendation! I love anything crime-related!

  13. #6 I DO THAT TOO!!!!! And I thought it was just me! I'll often take a bunch of photos, then when I leave the store or get home I'll look them up on Goodreads, read some reviews and then order them wherever they're cheapest online. Which, I know, support indie bookstores - but I'm broke too, yo. And I have watched every episode of Chicago Fire. Twice.

    1. I am so relieved it isn't just me! I always feel a little weird taking so many pictures (because I usually find a lot of books I want to read but cannot buy them all at once). In Germany new books always cost the same, so you cannot really look for the cheapest option. Only when you buy used books, which I do a lot because there are just so many books I want to read and buying all of them new would be soooo expensive.
And I am so glad you love Chicago Fire too! Oh, I love that show so much, I cannot even tell you! It is so addictive! Do you watch Chicago PD as well? Do you watch Suits? I am thinking about checking it out.

  14. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check out the MacBride crime novels and need to get back to reading more crime novels! What did your seitan roast have? I made some spicy shaved seitan, they were so good on pink rice and spicy pickled cucumbers. Peanut and Truffle ice cream, are you serious? Was the truffle strong or was it just chocolate truffle?

    1. I picked up another crime novel by Karin Slaughter this week. I hope it will be good, it definitely sounds interesting! I need to make more time for reading too! Hope you can read lots of crime novels, Rika! I found the seitan roast in a store, it's from a company called Wheaty. It was really really good. I made s spicy tomato sauce with it. Your seitan sounds fantastic, I never had pink rice! Have you shared the recipe on your blog? It was just a chocolate truffle, it was really good and creamy!

  15. I love Wheaty, it's my favorite German brand! Are you back to Germany for awhile?
