A crappy family, baked goods cravings and a guitar loving cat. {Ten On Tuesday}

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Tuesday! You can link up with my friend Alyssa here.

1. Popular Halloween costumes of the last 25 years. What is your favorite costume ever?

2. Sometimes I get so cold in the evening that I wear two pairs of socks (one of them my over knee socks) and two warms sweaters, make a hot water bottle and have two blankets with me on the couch. I am lucky to also have cats who keep me warm.

3. I finally downloaded Spotify (Thank you, Rika!) and I am loving it! I am listening to songs that I have not heard in years right now.

4. This is pretty much the coolest towel ever. Tea is clearly my favorite drink in fall. And ever. Still loving the licorice and mint tea but I am also drinking Moroccan mint and chai tea on a daily basis.

5. This family sold their house for 2.000.000 dollars together with their cat for 140.000 dollars. Who does that? Very responsible pet owners. And look at their stupid smiles in the picture. Just want to punch them.

6. This looks like a person who really loves her cat. And that cat clearly loves her. My cats would probably do the same - or run away because I cannot sing at all.

7. I need more cooking books in my life.

8. I am craving cinnamon rolls. So much. But I am cutting out sugar right now. And anything not whole grain. But soon....soon....I will try to bake these....

9. I am also planning to make some pumpkin pie, coconut cream pie, Apfelstrudel and poppyseed buns. As you can clearly see, I like baked goods.

10.  Random fact: My mom once met Kevin from the Backstreet Boys in front of a restaurant restroom.

Have a fantastic week!

  1. 1. I really like pirate or steampunk costumes!
    2. Ugh, same here!
    3. I love Spotify! That's how I find most of my favorite new music.
    4. I'm drinking so much tea right now. It helps me stay warm!
    5. I think that's horrible! It should be illegal to do that. Poor kitty :(
    6. Aw :) George clearly wants her to know how much he loves her!
    7. I have a new vegan holiday cookbook coming in the mail, Vegan Holiday Cooking from Candle Cafe by Joy Pierson, Angel Ramos, and Jorge Pineda. Should be good!
8.-9. I'm struggling to avoid baked goods. I will probably make some for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cinnamon rolls sound really good right now!
    10. Did she know who he was?

    1. 5. It really should be. That family sounds like a bunch of crap. And they actually look like a bunch of crap. Hate their fake smiles!
      7. Just put the book on my wishlist! Thank you! :) I also want to get Cloe's Vegan Italian kitchen, The Lusty Vegan And Betty Goes Vegan.
8.9. I am trying to stick to that cleanse but I really want to eat some baked goods. :)
      10. No, she did not. :) She went for dinner with my dad and then saw a bunch of girls screaming and they were all standing around those boys. So she asked who they were and then got an autograph from the one she liked best. :)

    1. I guess it is just me. It is not that cold yet but it seems like I am freezing like it is winter already. Especially when I sit on my desk. Hope you are having some nice weather!

  5. Hmm, let's hope the cat has a better home with the new owners...we really need to move past the age of selling living creatures like things. I can understand paying for care/injections/vet bills when you get a cat from a shelter or family, but that's ridiculous.

    1. Yeah, I agree. Animals are not things. I cannot believe that family just sells their cat for money. I really hope that the new family is better than the last! I mean, this is not an adoption fee or anything like that. Those people just give up their cat for money.

  6. Hi Katrin

Firstly, I loveee backstreet Boys!! Every song of theirs is a lovely one!

What is chai tea b'coz in India, we call tea chai in Hindi :)

How can anyone sell his cat..rubbish.

    Nice post! enjoy fall :)

    1. Well, I guess you would have recognized the Backstreet Boys then. :)
Oh so "tea" means "chai"? I did not know that. Here is some "chai tea" you can buy:

      That family really is crap!

    2. I saw the chai on this link. We call is masala (spice) chai in India :)

    3. Ah, thank you for clearing that up! I had no idea!

  7. I love that 'popular halloween costume' infographic! I think my favorite costume ever was Andromeda when I was about six. I had a white sheet sewn into a toga and gold sandals with gold laces that went right up my leg :)

  9. So they are really going to leave their cat with the people who bought their house?! That's just weird. And it's also weird that someone would pay $140,000 for a cat, too. Who ARE these people?!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, they are. Who does that? They say that the daughter of the buyers liked the cat so they sold her. Such crappy people. You just do not sell your pet!

  10. I like all these little things from your life. It also reminded me of the time when I, like every other girl, was so in love with the backstreet boys :-).

If you like spotify, have you tried 8tracks? It has some lovely autumn playlists for the evenings :-)

    1. Thank you so much, I am glad you liked it! The Backstreet Boys were pretty famous in Germany but I think the most popular boy band was Take That!

I have not heard of 8tracks yet! I will check it out, thank you!

  11. The Britney Spears costume is hilarious. I wanna be a Catwoman and wear kitty ears all night long! I’m so happy that you downloaded Spotify, I’m glad that I didn’t have to download songs or take up space! I just had pumpkin cinnamon rolls from Trader Joes, and I think I need another cinnamon roll! Let me know if you tried a recipe, I’ve tried a recipe from a really good vegan food blog before, the consistency didn’t work out for me (too dry, too dense). These pies you mentioned sound really good…are you going to celebrate Thanksgiving in Germany next month? That’s hilarious, I remember watching Backstreet Boys sing in end of the film, “This is the End’, and it was hilarious! That song they played was pretty good!

    1. I want to wear kitty ears even when it is not Halloween. Haha. :) Thank you again for recommending Spotify, it is really cool. I found a lot of music I loved years ago! I see those pumpkin cinnamon rolls all over the internet, they look soooo delicious! I will let you know when I try to make some. I do not like it when they are too dry. I made a cake with poppyseeds, almonds, banana and cinnamon last weekend and it was delicious. There are no Thanksgiving celebrations in Germany. So at least no killing of millions of innocent turkeys just for a holiday. I remember the end of that movie, it was so funny!
