The one with the crazy cat lady cardigan, the non-Christmassy movies and the crappy cake. {Ten On Tuesday}

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy December! I hope you are all doing great. You can link up with my friend Alyssa here

#1. December means it is time to watch Love Actually (even though I hate Liam Neeson), the Harry Potter series, The Holiday and my very special Christmas Eve movie Dirty Dancing. Which is not a Christmas movie at all but it is my tradition and I will stick to it.

#2. What movies do you watch in December? What are your favorite Christmas movies? Do you have any non-Christmassy movies you like to watch at Christmas?

#3. I am in love with this cardigan so please magically appear on my doorstep. Thanks.

#4. I bought vegan curry mayo today which sounds kind of weird but also kind of awesome...considering I hated mayo so much before I went vegan. It is one of the grossest things I can imagine...only topped  by onions and meat etc. of course. But give me vegan mayo and I am a happy girl (and I only discovered my love for it a couple of weeks ago).

#5. I drink a hot chocolate every night. It is good for your brain, it warms your heart, it tastes yummy and I do not even need a reason to drink it.

#6. My hair sucks.

#7. I want this to be a place in my house. Just add a globe bar.

#8. Last weekend I made a cake that looked like crap but tasted like heaven. Banana, hazelnut and chocolate. I did not bother to take a picture because it was so ugly.

#9. I am still not over the fact that I have to wait until April for the newest Jussi Adler-Olsen novel. I need a Danish speaker to translate it for me.

#10. My current food addictions are: apricot cream filled wafers, applesauce mixed with soy yogurt and cinnamon, Müsli with lots of nuts, Vego bars and bananas.

Have a great rest of the week and thank you for reading!

    1. He's an idiot. I heard him talking about horse carriages in NY and was he said was one of the most stupid things I have ever heard. He supports animal cruelty and that is why I hate him.
      Have fun watching the movies!

  6. I want a bookshelf just like that and have been browsing IKEA for a while. I so want to replace the shelves I have and create a cleaner look. We started watching a lot of different Christmas movies last year because the hubby was so sick over the holiday break. And I do hope that we will do the same over this break. It was so nice and cozy and I loved just sitting and relaxing with my kids.
I remember my parents always watched James Bond on Christmas Eve when I was younger. It was the weirdest thing. Wonder if they still shown those movies in Germany.

    1. Yeah, I know what you mean. I would like to have one wall with book shelves to make it look cleaner. And have all the books in one place. Right now they are all over the place!
I agree, it is so nice and cozy to watch movies during this time of the wear! I hope you will have a lot of comfy nights on your couch!
Haha, that is so cool I love that your family watched James Bond on Christmas! I also love to watch Michel aus Lonneberga and Pippi Langstrumpf on Christmas!

  7. I do love veggie mayo, I eat it with french fries all the time :)

I don't have a fridge yet so food options are really limited here...but soon!

I don't watch xmas movies, but I used to love one called The Box of Delights which is based on a fabulous book.

    1. I did not have it with french fries yet. Need to try that. I am really liking the curry mayo! Hope you will have a fridge soon!
I need to check out that movie and/or the book! Thanks for the recommendation!

  8. Awww! How can you hate Liam?? I love watching A Christmas Story...it's the sort of movie that never gets old no matter how many times I've seen it!

    1. Liam Neeson said a lot of stupid things in support of horse carriages in NYC on TV which I cannot support. I am against all kind of animal cruelty and those horses suffer and often die in the streets. And he tries to defends it. Which is why I cannot stand that guy!
You are right, that movie is good! The funny thing is that I have watched it for the first time only a couple of years ago. It is not that popular in Germany but I did see it in America!

  9. Apricot cream wafers? Where did you pick those up from? Btw, I got my books back from the lady I lent them to and she was so happy to have discovered new mystery writers

    1. They are from Manner which is an Austrian company and a lot of their products are "accidentally vegan". You can find them here:
      http://www.manner.at/en/apricot-light-wafers
      They are so delicious!
Oh wow, I am so happy she discovered so many new mystery writers! I am always glad when others love the books I love as well!

  10. Ugh...my hair sucks, too. It depresses me every morning when I try to think of something to do with it other than throw it up in a ponytail!

I LOVE Christmas movies! Some of my favorites: Love Actually, Elf, Home Alone, The Holiday, The Family Stone, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's A Wonderful Life, The Polar Express, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (old cartoon version)... I really could keep going. I just love holiday movies! :) So why do you not like Liam Neeson??

    1. I am sorry you feel the same way about your hair! It looks lovely to me! I never know what to do with mine which is why I always have a ponytail. Anything else looks so stupid. :)

Thanks for the recommendations! I need to check out the ones I have not seen yet. It looks like everybody loves The Family Stone. Maybe I can watch it this weekend!

Liam Neeson talks so much crap. You know the carriage horses in NYC? They suffer a lot in traffic and often die because of dehydration or get hurt. And he passionately defends that cruel practice on tv. I have seen him once on The Daily Show and it was so disgusting to just listen to him.

  12. 1. I think I need to finally rent Love Actually and watch it this Christmas! I've never seen it!
    2. The Santa Clause, White Christmas, Muppet Christmas Carol, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and Charlie Brown's Christmas. For non-Christmas stuff, I think we're going to start binge-watching The Walking Dead...I finally bought it as a Christmas present for us this year!
    3. That's so cute!
    4. I've never liked mayo. Vegan or non. But curry mayo sounds strangely appealing!
    5. Yummy!
    6. Aw, why?
    7. I love all the bookshelf pics you post. :)
    8. Ooh, that sounds good!
    9. I have such a long TBR list that I'm sure the time will fly by. :)
    10. These all sound yummy!

    1. 1. I like watching it, it is very entertaining and funny. Except of stupid Mr. Neeson.
      2. I need to check those out! Thank you! And have fun with the Walking Dead, I am sure you will like it. I need to catch up!
      4. It is really good. I never felt like eating mayo but I had to try this one and it is really yummy, not gross at all.
      6. It just never looks good. Other people's hair always looks nice and they can do all kinds of hairstyles but mine always looks stupid. I cannot help myself.
      9. I guess you are right. There will be a new Indridason next week!

  13. There was a random 1980s movie classic that played on Australian television yesterday, ‘A Christmas Story’ and I finished watching it, it was pretty cute, but, gross with the turkey. We usually watch Bad Santa sometimes during Christmas, and have you watched The Goldbergs TV series yet? Hilarious stuff ever. <3 the cardigan! I’m obsessed with hot chocolate and made it almost everyday before Melbourne, now I need to find some hot chocolate here, but the weather is just insane now. x
