Desert Island: five items I'd want to have with me.

Hallo meine Lieben,

how is your week going? I hope it is great and full of sunshine!
I am linking up for another round of Random Tuesday. You can join the fun here.

And here's the topic.

I assume that there are at least some palm trees on that island which means that there is plenty of food (yummy coconuts) and water. So I don't need to care about that stuff. Because I can get pretty grumpy when I am hungry.
I would also want to have some company. I guess David and the pets don't count as items but it surely would be nice to have them with me.
So here is what I would take.

1. A bad ass knife.

Well, these knives can pretty much do anything so I guess they should be very helpful in a situation like this. They definitely have fire-starters which I definitely need because I hate to be cold.

2. Lots of books.

Because I always need some reading material. Plus I have no idea how long I will be stuck on that island so I guess it is great to have something to do.

3. Warm socks and a blanket.

Because I always get cold. A fire is probably not enough.

4. My ipad. With unlimited battery.

I am assuming that there is free wi-fi on that island. So yeah, I guess it would be nice to have an iPad. It would provide me with even more books. And it would be nice to write emails to the people who don't have to spend their time on a desert island.

5. A toothbrush.

Because I am pretty sure that coconut will get stuck in my teeth. And it is really nice to be able to clean your teeth once in a while.

What items would you want to have with you on a desert island?
Have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. I know it's weird, but I get so cranky if I can't brush my teeth. Like if I have a soda and can't brush them right away! I can't stand having a woolly mouth. :P

  3. That is a pretty awesome knife!

It's hard to say what 'things'. I guess that knife, ipad with magical battery and wifi if that's possible, a tent, bedding, and as in the eyes of the law domestic pets are considered things my cat (even though I don't agree that cats are things for the purpose of this question it works).

And you are right about the things, I don't consider cats as things as well but the law does. So yeah, I would definitely need to have my pets with me also. I need them!

  9. A toothbrush! Ugh, I can't believe I never thought about that. I watched a survival show once where this dude was deserted on an island for 30 days and he actually used bits of coal from his old fire to scrub his teeth with. Ick! Said it was disgusting but got the job done. Yeah, I dont ever want to find out.

  11. I can't think of anything better than you already wrote down to bring to the island :)
I'll definitely need the books so I can sit on the beach and read for hours and hours. Oh, how much I wish I could do that right now :)
Ich drücke Dich noch Mal ganz fest, liebe Katrin.

  12. Oh, a toothbrush, definitely! Funny thing, the other day when I was at the grocery store, I saw those packs with floss that come ready to use, tied to the plastic thingy? And I realized that I could send them to my dad. Since he had the stroke he hasn't been able to floss because he can only use one hand. I don't know why I'm telling you this, hehe, it just made me a little happy to be able to send him something I know he'll really appreciate. I'm such a bad daughter, I never send him anything other than photos :/ ...

  15. definitely I would take all the items on your list, though I probably would like a device that operates with the help of the sun - such as a laptop - something to store music and audio books and tv shows. surely, a toothbrush is a must, because if you're found, you don't want to give the rescuers an unwelcome smile, right?

    have a sweet day.
