99 questions you should ask yourself - part II.

Hallo meine Lieben,

hope your week is going great! Here is part 2 of the 99 questions, you can find part 1 here.

11. How many minutes do you look at your phone each day?

I am not sure. I mean, that really depends where I am and what I do. But I do spend a lot of time talking to David, checking my emails, looking at pictures on Instagram. When I am home I usually use my iPad or laptop though.

12. Do you call your parents for no reason?

I usually skype with my Dad maybe twice a week. We always have a lot to tell each other, just the normal every day stuff.

13. Do you know the story of how your parents met?

Yes, I do! They met in a cafe because of mutual friends. My Mom was only 15 years old and it must have been love at first sight.

14. What do you miss when you are on vacation?

My cats and bunnies of course. I don't like being without them and I always worry that anything could happen to them. I also miss my bed when I am on vacation because I love to sleep in my own bed with my pillows and my blanket.

15. What is the word of your childhood?

I would say "love" because my parents and grandparents have always been there for me and I always felt their love and support.

16. When was the last time you played a game?

I played some "Words with Friends" today but if we talk about board games then it was a couple of months ago when I played the "Crazy Cat Lady Game" with David. He surprised me with this game. I love playing board games and I should definitely do it more often.

17. Do you think more about your past or your future?

I think about the past and the future a lot. I tend to worry too much which I really don't want to do but it is hard to change it. And there is definitely no use in worrying about the past. Nothing you can change about that. So I always try to stay positive.

18. In which language would you like to be fluent?

Well, I would definitely like to be fluent in English. I mean, I am kind of fluent but I would love to be able to not make any mistakes at all anymore. Other than that, I would love to be fluent in French and Italian and Spanish and Swedish and Icelandic.

19. Do you try not to look like a tourist when you are on vacation?

Well, let's say I try not to look stupid when I am on vacation but I always carry a camera with me so I guess you can clearly see that I am a tourist. But I definitely don't look like the stereotypical German tourist wearing sandals and white socks.

20. Do you like yourself better when you are drunk?

No, not really. I don't drink very much, a beer here and there so I don't really get drunk. But I don't like myself when I am too drunk which happened a couple of times in the past. It just makes me feel bad the next morning.

Please feel free to join. I would love to read your answers!
Have a lovely Wednesday!

  1. Hehe if there's something worse than a grist wearing sandals with white socks is a normal person wearing sandals with white socks to work (yep, I've seen them in the Netherlands :p )
I love your answer to the question about languages. I would love to be really fluent in German and not make sooo many mistakes and I'd really like to learn Icelandic some day. I started some years ago but self-study is hard!
    Have a nice evening, Katrin!

    1. Oh no, people wear white socks and sandals to work? That sounds horrible! And I have always thought it is just a German thing! :)
So cool that you started to learn Icelandic! You are right, self study is hard! I would really love to learn it too, I have to look for a course!
Have a great evening, Irene! <3

  5. I'm with you on #14, though only about the bed as I think there's no comfort like your bed.

I would have answer the same as you on #17.

#18, too. even if you speak English from the day you were born, there's always some new word to learn, so I wouldn't worry about making mistakes. I would like to be fluent in French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and pretty much any language really.

great to read your answers. have a sweet day.

Thank you so much for saying that I don't have to worry about making mistakes! You are so sweet! And I would definitely love to learn an Asian language too!

  6. Oh god, those socks and sandals! The horror! But we all know you're too chic to walk around like that. :D

I agree with Lissa, even if you were born speaking English there are so many mistakes to make (like lie and lay) and new words to learn. You certainly write like a native speaker, in my opinion!

    1. Hehe, thank you! You are so sweet! I always have cold feet but I would not wear socks with sandals. :)
And thanks for making me feel better. I always feel bad about making mistakes! You really think I write like a native speaker? I don't know. I always feel like it sounds bad! :) But thanks so much for saying this. It means a lot!

  11. Sandals and white socks!!!! ;o) I'm so glad you don't do that!

For the record, I think your English is perfect. Even those of us whose mother tongue is English still make mistakes. I think you can count yourself fluent, my dear!

    1. Haha, yeah, I will never do that...no matter how cold my feet are. :)

And thank you so much, Sarah! That really means a lot to me. You are so sweet. I always feel a little insecure about my English because I know it is not perfect....

  12. I would say you're fluent in English. You write really well in it, anyhow.

I take a lot of pictures too. I would do that even if I were a local though, so I don't worry about it too much. (You should see how many pictures I have of the beach from when I lived in Florida. It never got old to me lol).
