Five Things. Furry art, book buddies and a Swedish crime novel.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all doing fine. Sorry for my lack of posts at the moment but I am sure I will be back at some point soon.

1. Famous art with the little extra feline touch. Read more about it here

2. I recently found out that my birthday is also the International Day Of Rock. I like it. Guess there is a day for everything.

3. I love the idea of the Book Buddies Program. Little kids practice their reading skills and get to spend some time with shelter cats. And the cats get some extra attention. So everybody is happy.

4. I thought that Åke Edwardson would have stopped writing his Erik Winter novels but this week I discovered that there is actually a new novel. I think the last one was published in 2008. I guess you can imagine how excited I got. I am sure the bookstore people thought I was crazy. Yay for more Scandinavian crime. You can find his books here.

5. This is where I want to live.

Enjoy your Sunday and have a happy week!

  3. There is an International Day of Rock?? Wow. Did you know that there was National Doughnut Day last week?? Made me wonder why that's not a red-letter holiday! And wow that library with the staircase is amazing. I would love for Beate and I to have a library in our home someday :)

  6. That's a fun day to share your birthday with! I'll have to Google and see if mine is on anything special. Occasionally it falls on Friday the 13th which is spooky since my b-day is in October, but that's only every 7 years or so!

    1. That is so cool, my birthday is the 13th too. :) July 13th. But yours is cooler because it is before Halloween. :) One year I was so unlucky at a Friday 13th birthday, I hurt myself twice in one day and ended up with a bloody knee and arm.

  8. How are you doing, Katrin? I hope everything’s ok with David’s family. I did the same thing, I looked up my birthday and it’s interesting to see what holidays / events are associated with that day and most of them were depressing, i.e., “ A series of bombings across Iraq, including Baghdad, Hillah and Kirkuk, kills at least 93 people and wounds over 300 others.” “Friday the 13th”, etc. Have you seen this British film, The Mortal Instruments? I thought you might like the film, the staircase you like reminded me of the setting.

    1. I am doing okay, Rika. Thank you. Everything is a bit complicated at the moment but what will you do! I kind of like it that sometimes I can celebrate my birthday on a Friday 13th. :) It's special. But I agree, it is depressing to see how many bad things happened on your birthday!
I have not seen this film but I will check it out! Thank you so much, Rika! I really love those staircases. I hope I can have one like that someday!
