Five Things. A bookshelf dress, shame on the princes and a grumpy owl.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Friday! Hope you are all having a fantastic time! Please check out my friend Celeste's Five Things too.

1. This dress.

Jeremy Scott Bookshelf dress - Wood Wood

A book shelf dress? How fantastic is that. As a book worm I had to fell in love with it. It is the Jeremy Scott Bookshelf dress, a Danish designer.

2. This video.

You can find more information here. Prince William, David Beckham and Yao Ming made a video to protect the last Rhinos on earth. I wish more famous people would raise some awareness.
BUT: What I don't understand is that Prince William speaks out against rhino hunting but goes on a hunting trip to Spain with his brother Harry where they kill several animals including a water buffalo and wild boars. Shame on you, guys. Where is the logic? And the compassion? You can find more information here (also a picture of Prince Harry with a dead animal). Things like that just make me incredibly sad.

3. A grumpy owl.

I am sure this little fellow could be Grumpy Cats best friend. If Grumpy Cat wants to have any friends. No matter what, I am in love because owls rule.

4. Meet Ella.

I guess you already know that I am a huge fan of The Sidekick Series, a documentary featuring adopted pets and their humans. In the latest episode you can meet Ella and Stephen and honestly, this video made me cry. It is so fantastic to see wonderful people like Stephen and a sick but happy cat like Ella. Don't miss this.

5. This lip balm.

A vegan Pickles & Ice Cream lip balm! This sounds too cool to be true. Totally my kind of thing. I would love to try this so badly! It is from a company called Molly Rose Lip Balms. I love to discover companies like that. Everything is handcrafted, organic and vegan. Perfect. You can check it out here.

Have a fantastic weekend!

PS: Yesterday was International Love Your Pet Day...but I would say that every day should be International Love Your Pet Day. For my pets it is....

Five Things. Food addictions, a crime novel and a petition.

Hallo meine Lieben,

hope you are all doing fantastic! My laptop is at the computer doctor right now and I feel bad for the poor thing. And myself. Hope I will get it back soon. Fixed. I miss that thing. Sorry for the lack of posting...things will change soon hopefully. At least I was finally able to catch up on some blog reading.

Please check out my friend Celeste's Five Things as well.

1. This bath bomb.

I love Lush, especially their seasonal products. This bath bomb is called "Sex Bomb" and it smells like jasmine, ylang ylang and sage. It is vegan and cruelty free. And it looks to good to use it to be honest. Love to spend some time in the tub with a bath bomb and a good book.

2.  This book.

On January 17 I will finally be able to start reading another Icelandic crime novel by
Arnaldur Indriðason. I will definitely stop by the book store that day because I just can't wait to hold it in my hands. It is the first book of a new series and sounds very promising...

3. This food addiction.

I tend to get obsessed with different kind of food every couple of weeks. And then I don't want to eat anything else. Right now it is mandarin oranges with coconut flakes, agave syrup, walnuts and soy yogurt. It is so good. I eat a huge bowl of it every single day. Sometimes twice. But I will do an exception on Sunday and finally cook the vegan Pad Thai I found in my new cooking book.

4. True crime.

I re-discovered  my love for true crime books, thanks to Emily! I got the book as a Christmas present from David and immediately started reading it. I did not have much time for my favorite thing to do yet (books) but I can't wait to read more of it and check out all the other books Emily recommended.

5. This petition.

Seems like you all feel the same way about declawing like I do. It is a horrible and cruel thing to do. Lots of you have never heard about it before either. I could not believe that people actually do this to their cats. So please sign this petition speak up against de-clawing cats. Thank you so much!
Here is what the website says:

Mutilating your pet because her natural behavior annoys you might seem incomprehensible but happens every day across the United States. Declawing cats doesn’t mean a nail trim; it is the equivalent of amputating most of a human’s fingers and toes.
Declawing causes serious pain in the short term and can result in chronic pain and lameness for life. As a result, declawing cats for non-medical reasons is illegal in many countries, including Australia, Germany, the UK, Israel and Switzerland.
Although many individual vets refuse to carry out the procedure, the American Veterinary Medical Association’s vague guidelines on the topic provide no end of loopholes. This milkwater position has got to change. Deliberate, unnecessary cruelty to animals, legal or not, is not something any vet should participate in.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

"This or that" beauty tag.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are all doing great and you are enjoying fall! Here in my part of Germany it is cold and windy and rainy. Not my kind of fall.

My kind of fall.

I have seen this post on my friend Martha's blog and I thought it would be fun to join in. I like reading things like this on my friend's blogs so maybe you will enjoy this too. I will definitely enjoy filling it out.
I do love beauty products, as long as they are cruelty free. Just to make that clear, I am definitely not a beauty expert, nor will I ever be a beauty blogger but I do enjoy discovering new products.

Face

Blush or bronzer? Blush. I use it pretty much daily but I never use bronzer. I don't even know how to properly use bronzer. I am pale and I like it.

Lip gloss or lip stick? Lipstick because most glosses are kind of sticky and I hate that. I do have some lip glosses but I rarely use them. Not that I use lipstick on a regular basis...

Eyeliner or mascara? I do like to use both of them. If I would have to choose then I would probably go with the mascara, don't ask me why. I usually use black mascara but my eyeliners are mostly brown by the way.

Foundation or concealer? Probably foundation. Although my skin looks a lot better since I went vegan (true story). I still use foundation pretty much every day but a light one. I don't want it to look like a masque. Concealer can be pretty helpful though. I tend to not sleep enough.

Neutral or colored eye shadow? Definitely neutral. I mostly wear brown eye shadow. I do have an eye shadow palette with some bright colors but I have to admit that I mostly bought it because it looks so pretty. Not because I planned on wearing it all the time...Stupid I know. I have that thing for years and have used it twice. Just to see how it looks. Not because I wanted to leave the house like that. It does not make any sense but it makes me happy to look at the palette. I am rambling, sorry.

Pressed or loose eye shadow? Pressed. I am way too clumsy to handle loose eye shadow.

Brushes or sponges? I have such a pink sponge to apply my foundation and I like that thing a lot. But I also like my (vegan) foundation brush.

Nails

OPI or China Glaze? I don't use any of them. OPI isn't cruelty free. I don't know about China Glaze but I don't own any of these. My favorite nail polish brands are Butter London and OCC but I also love the vegan nail polishes from the German drugstore brand P2.

Long or short? Short nails. I can't handle long nails plus I don't really like the way they look.

Acrylic or natural? Natural. I don't want to have fake nails.

Bright or dark? Dark or nude. I do like red nail polish though.

Flowers (or other designs) or no? No design, please.

Body

Perfume or body splash? Perfume. I do have some body splash which is nice in summer but I would not use that every day.

Lotion or body butter? Both. My skin is so dry and I have a really great vegan body butter which I use on my legs in winter. I do mostly use body lotion though.

Body wash or soap? Depends. I do love my Lush soaps but I use body wash for my daily shower. I do have to say that I am a sucker for soaps. I think it is because of my Grandma's sister who always gave me some fancy soap when I visited her.

Lush or another brand? Lush please. Love that brand. And I love spending hours in that store. I recently got a fabulous hand cream which smells like chocolate and orange...so good. And their body butters are heavenly!

Fashion

Jeans or sweat pants? Jeans. I love jeans. I wear them pretty much every day. I do love do wear my "ugly pants" (that's how David and I call them) in the evening though. It's so comfortable to hang out like that on the couch.

Long or short sleeves? Haha. Long sleeves of course. I am always cold. I rarely wear short sleeves.

Dress or skirt? Dress. As I said, I mostly wear jeans but I do have some cute dresses which I should probably wear more often.

Stripes or plaids? Plaid. Always looks good.

Scarves or hats? Scarves! I guess I have way too many scarves but I am always cold so I need all of them. You can't have too many scarves. I do love hats too but mostly on other people because I look like an idiot wearing them.

Studs or dangling earrings? Studs. I can't handle dangling earrings, they drive me crazy. I don't know why.

Necklace or bracelet? Both. I do love jewelry a lot.

Heels or flats? I rarely wear heels. I do have a couple of high heels but I only wear them on special occasions when I am able to sit most of the time. I like to be comfortable.

Cowboy boots or riding boots? Riding boots I guess.

Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, or Marshalls? I have to admit that I have never heard of Charlotte Russe or Marshalls.

Hair

Curly or straight? Straight. My hair is not made for curls.

Bun or ponytail? Ponytail. My hair is too short for anything else right now. I do love buns though.

Bobby pins or butterfly clips? I guess bobby pins. I rarely use them though. But I never use butterfly clips.

Hairspray or gel? Don't really use any of them. I guess hairspray because I never use gel.

Long or short? Medium. I do love short hair a lot. I kind of miss my short hair cut. I should give it another try some day...

Dark or light? I am blonde but I am still thinking about a darker hair color...

Side swept or full bangs? I love full bangs I just need to get a haircut because my hair is too long right now.

Up or down? Up. Never wear my hair down. It just doesn't look very good on me.

Random

Rain or shine? I love rain showers. Just not for a week straight. So right now I am wishing for some sunshine.

Summer or winter? Hmm, I am always cold but I still love winter because everything is so cozy and nice that time of the year.

Fall or spring? Fall. Best season.

Chocolate or vanilla? Dark chocolate and vanilla pudding, please.

I hope you enjoyed this a bit. I would love to read your answers by the way. So feel free to join in!
Have a lovely rest of the week!

PS: It's National Farm Animals Awareness Week!

My holy grail of moisturisers - MuLondon Organic White Chocolate Truffle Moisturiser

Hallo meine Lieben,

today I want to tell you a little bit about one of my favorite skin care products ever. I have heard about MuLondon a couple of weeks ago and I immediately knew that I had to try these products. The wonderful Boris - who is the owner of MuLondon - kindly offered to send me my favorite product: the Organic White Chocolate Truffle Face Moisturiser. Thank you again, Boris!
When I first heard about the product I wasn't sure if I want to eat it or use it as my moisturiser. It just sounds so delicious.

I was excited like a little kid on Christmas Eve when my package from London arrived - I just couldn't wait to try it.

I opened the jar and I just couldn't believe the smell: it reminds me of something from my childhood. I can't exactly say what but it might be the hot chocolate my Mom always made for me. So the product already won me over because of the smell. I mean, it reminds me of my Mom so that's already enough to make me happy.

I really love everything about the product: the smell, the packaging, the texture, the ingredients, the way it makes my skin feel....
I am using this product for a while now and it makes my skin feel so soft and healthy...and then the smell! It quickly became my every day product. I am so in love!

Here are the ingredients:
Vitellaria Paradoxa (Shea Butter)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Butter)*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil)*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary Extract)*, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla Extract)*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Extract)
*Denotes Certified Organic Ingredients.

All products are natural and organic, vegan and cruelty-free, mild & concentrated and without preservatives. They are also registered by The Vegan Society, The Vegetarian Society and PETA.

I use it as my day and my night cream.
This is definitely not my last MuLondon product. I am planning on buying the Organic Rose Foaming Face Wash and the Organic Rose, Rosehip & Rosemary Face Moisturiser

I really can't recommend this product enough.

I also recommend following MuLondon on Instagram because Boris shares the most wonderful pictures there! Boris, thanks again for sending me this wonderful product!

What do you think of the MuLondon products?  Do you want to try them?

Ten On Tuesday. Chocolate truffle, books and stinky fruits.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Tuesday! I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Number 1.

I received this wonderful moisturiser in the mail yesterday and I am so in love with it (Thanks, again, MuLondon!). The smell reminds me of my childhood which is really awesome. Plus it makes my skin feel so soft.  It's the Organic White Chocolate Truffle - Face Moisturiser by the way. I will use it for a couple of days and then tell you some more about it.

Number 2.

I got this book today and I can't wait to start reading it because it looks like so much fun.

Number 3.

I wonder if I am the only one who reads several books at a time. Right now I am reading 5 books. I am so impatient that I can't wait to start a new one before I have finished the last one.

Number 4.

I would like to find out how a durian tastes. I know that lots of people say it smells like something rotten but I am still curious. I have heard it's forbidden to eat them in public places like the subway because of the bad smell.

Number 5.

I love to discover new things to eat. I know my selection is not that huge because I eat vegan and hate onions but I still try to find new things to eat all the time.

Number 6.

Another great product I discovered is the SPF 18 Daily Facial Lotion by Beauty Without Cruelty. Thanks again to my wonderful friend Martha! I would not have discovered it without you! You rock! <3 The product is vegan and cruelty free and I am glad that it protects my face from the getting a sunburn!

Number 7.

My nose is constantly running since yesterday and I have no idea why.

Number 8.

I have seen a travel documentary about Iceland yesterday and now I want to travel there even more. The country is so incredibly beautiful! Although I have to say that they have some pretty weird food over there. I definitely don't want to eat blood pudding, rotten shark meat or puffins!

Number 9.

I am totally in love with Instagram right now. It's so much fun. If you don't follow me yet, my you can find me here. My username is katrin_locc

Number 10.

I really need to catch up with some blog reading tonight. I am way behind.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Five things. Marching cats, a heavenly moisturiser and peanut butter lip balm.

Hallo meine Lieben,

how is your weekend going? I hope you are having a great time! It is pretty rainy here today so I am planning to do some work, read a good book and catch up with some shows.

You should all check out my friend Celeste's Five Things.

1. This moisturiser

It is the Organic White Chocolate Truffle - Face Moisturiser by MuLondon and I just have to try it! I stumbled upon MuLondon's website and I am so fascinated by the products, I think I have to order this and the Organic Rose - Foaming Face Wash. It just sounds too good to be true. All products are handmade, natural, organic, cruelty free and vegan.

2. This giveaway.

My friend Martha is giving away a bottle of Ageless Derma Anti-Aging Intensive Skin Brightener which is also vegan-friendly. You can enter here!

3. These marching cats.

I have found it here on Rooth's blog a miusmie. I just can't get enough of this video. So much cuteness. And it always makes me smile, even after watching it 10 times.

4. This book.

Here is a description:
"Natalie has been described as "Martha Stewart meets Iron Maiden," taking vegan cooking to places it has never been before. Influenced by slasher films, pro-wrestling, punk rock and heavy metal, her quirky-yet-delicious comfort foods are a refreshing take on vegan eating with award-winning flavors. Along the way, her off-color humor, irreverent rants and density of pop-culture references will make you laugh out loud."
Martha Stewart meets Iron Maiden? Sounds awesome. The book is already in my shopping cart, it will be released on August 6.

5. This  peanut butter lip balm.

Peanut butter lip balm?  I am stoked. I also need one with Pistachio flavor, one with Chai Tea, one with Root Beer....they all sound wonderful and are all vegan.

Have a sweet weekend!

Holy Grail cosmetics.

Hallo meine Lieben

how is your week going? I hope you are all doing fine.
It's time for another Random Thursday. I really love this link-up! It is always so much fun to read the other girls' posts.

I do love cosmetics. A lot. It is so much fun to discover new products but there are some that I stick to for a longer time because they are soo good that I don't want to live without them anymore. And here are some of them.

Lime Crime lipstick in "Coquette"

I think this lipstick has the perfect nude shade. I don't often wear bright lipstick shades. Not that I don't like them but I always feel like a clown when I wear them. This shade is great to wear it every day. I also love the texture of the lipstick

Lime Crime Velvetine Lipstick in Suedeberry

This is what I wear when I want to feel like a clown. Just kidding. I am trying to get used to wear brighter colors. Because I think they look fantastic. But mostly on other people.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Hoochie

I would love to own all the shades they offer. Such a great product. Plus it lasts very long. I probably own too many lip products.

Beauty Without Cruelty Nail Polish in Geranium.

I can't get enough of nail polishes and I think this one has the perfect purple shade. I probably own more nail polishes than I need but this one is my favorite at the moment.

Lush "You snap the whip" body butter.

First I wasn't sure about how to use this product because it is basically a huge black block that you rub over your skin. But after I first used it I was in love. And I have to admit that I had to smell my own arm the whole time because it smells so incredibly good. I can't even describe the smell but there is blackcurrant and macadamia oil in it.

Smith's Rosebud Salve Balm.

First of all, I love the smell of roses. I am also a huge fan of all kinds of lip balms. So this seemed to be the perfect product for me when I saw it at the Sephora store in Las Vegas. And I was right. Love that stuff. Makes my lips feel so smooth. Plus it smells incredible.

Well, there are more products I love to use but I guess it is enough for one post.

And now, please tell me what your favorite beauty products are? And are there any products you really hate?

Have a wonderful Thursday!

All the products are cruelty free and vegan friendly.

Ten On Tuesday. All things beauty.

Hallo meine Lieben,

this week i decided to tell you a little bit about my favorite beauty products. I love to read about other people's favorite products so I thought you might enjoy that too. Maybe I am wrong but it is definitely fun to write about it.
I am linking up with Lin and Amber.

So here are ten of my current favorite beauty products. I apologize in advance for all the Lush products you will see. But I really like that stuff and can't get enough of it at the moment.

1. Face cleanser.

Lush, Buche de Noel.
I swear, I would love to eat that stuff. It smells so incredible and christmasy and delicious. I can barely resist but i haven't tried a bite. Yet. There are almonds in it, cranberries and cocoa butter.

2. Lipstick.

Lime Crime, Coquette.
Honestly, I just can't resist a purple lipstick with glitter unicorns on it. Plus the shade is really pretty and nude. I got it from David for my birthday. He knows me.

3. Hand cream.

Lush, Handy Gurugu.
My hands are pretty stupid, the skin is always dry and nothing else helps me. I don't know. There is lots of good stuff in it...almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, herbs. The smell is incredible and it really helps my skin.

4. Body lotion.

Lush, Sympathy for the skin.
I know, I am boring but Lush products really work for me. This one contains bananas which is pretty awesome.
I also love the You snap the whip body butter by Lush. It contains charcoal and blackcurrant and it was weird to use it at first but it definitely works and smells like paradise.

5. Lip Scrub.

Lush, Mint Julips.
Well another product I just want to eat because it smells like chocolate and mint. I don't even like chocolate in combination with mint but this is awesome. Weird, I know. Plus it makes your lips really smooth.

6. Face mask.

Lush, cupcake mask.
It is a chocolate mask. So it is a winner. I would also love to try some other face masks from Lush. Oatifix is on top of my list. One of my friends says it tastes like cookie dough. Sounds amazing to me.

7. Nail polish.

Beauty without cruelty, Geranium.
I am in love with that color. It is such a pretty pinkish purple. I love nail polish and I have so many colors but this one is my absolute favorite.

8. Moisturizer.

Alverde, wild rose day cream.
I am a huge fan of everything that smells like roses. So this cream is my hero. It's especially for dry skin. I love the products from Alverde because they are all natural.

9. Soap.

Lush, rock star.
They call it bubble gum soap but it does not really remind me of bubble gum. It is pink and smells like vanilla and that is all I need to make me happy.

10.  Things I would love to own.

I guess you can see a pattern. I am really into Lush and all products that smell good. So I would love to spend some more time in a Lush store and get some nice new products such a a new shampoo and some bath bombs.  I also want to discover some new products because I can't use Lush products all the time. That's kind of boring. So I am counting on you. Do you have any recommendations? What works for you?

Have a lovely Tuesday!

PS: This post was not sponsored by Lush.

Wish list. # 1: Lush products.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I am a little sick so I hope you are not! :)

I love making lists and it is even more fun to make wish lists. So I thought it might be a nice idea to create some nice lists. The topic of today's list is "Lush products". I have talked a lot about Lush products with you guys in the last 3 days and I want to thank you for all the great recommendations!
A Lush store will open in Columbus soon. Yay!

Sympathy for the Skin.

A body lotion that contains bananas, vanilla and cocoa butter? How wonderful is that? definitely # 1 on my wish list. I would love to smell like a banana.

Marzibain
"Almong icing bubble bath". How awesome is that? I know, it sounds like Christmas but I really love the smell of Marzipan, even in summer. I don't take baths very often but when I do I want to celebrate it. And I guess this bath bomb is perfect for it.

Sweetie Pie

I always wanted to try a shower jelly. Do you guys have any experience with it? It definitely looks interesting and it smells like blackcurrant and cherries. Plus it sparkles. Not so sure if I want to sparkle all day long so I have to make sure that I wash off all the glitter.

Eau Roma Water

I am still searching for the perfect toner and I have heard so many good things about this one that I really want to try it. It contains rose and lavender and is perfect when you have dry skin. Seems to be perfect for me!

Sweet Lips.

My lips are very sensitive, especially in fall and winter. I don't have much experience with Lip Scrub but most of the lip balms I have used were not very helpful. Any recommendations here? This scrub contains vanilla cocoa and jojoba oil and hopefully it will help my poor lips!

Do you like Lush? What are your favorite products? Is there any product you can't live without? Do you like to take baths?

Have a great Saturday and pamper yourself!

Things I like Thursday v.2 - Beauty edition (+penguins & polarbears)

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

I have to say that I love reading beauty blogs. I love to see the pictures, I love to discover new things and I love to get some inspiration. So I thought it would be a nice idea to show you my favorite beauty products at the moment.

1. Tangle Teezer

My hair and I are not very good friends. It can be so painful to brush it and it never looks the way I want it to. So I never looked forward to brushing my hair after I had washed it. Then I heard and read about the Tangle Teezer and I have to say that I was more than sceptical. I mean, it is just a weird looking piece of plastic plus it is not the cheapest brush you can imagine. In Germany you have to pay 14,95 Euro (almost 19$) for that pink little bit of plastic, in America you can get it for 9,95 $ (8 Euros). But hey, I have tried it and now I don't have to cry anymore when I brush my hair. I don't know how it works but it does work. I have to say that I have never tried it with dry hair but it works fine with wet hair. So  I can only recommend it, especially when you have terrible hair like me.

2. Lush Herbalism

I know, I have said it before but I love Lush products. Some people don't like the smell but I can't get enough of it. I love the way you already smell the store from a hundred meters away. Herbalism is a facial cleanser and it is made of rice vinegar, almonds, rosemary, chamomile, nettle and kaolin (China clay). It has a peeling effect and is completely vegan. I use it every night to clean my skin and my skin feels like a baby's butt after using it.

3. Alverde Feuchtigkeitskur Aloe Vera & Hibiskus

This is a product from Germany, you can buy it at "dm Drogeriemarkt" which is the most famous drug store there. It is a treatment for dry hair and I use it every second time after I have washed my hair and used conditioner. It contains Aloe Vera and hibiscus and is from "alverde" which is the natural cosmetics line from dm. It is pretty cheap, only 1,45 Euros I think and it is absolutely great. My hair feels so much better and it gives it a lot of moisture. It is also completely vegan (and smells soooo good!)

4. Lush Handy Gurugu

Another Lush product! Yay! Okay, I have dry hair AND skin and especially the skin on my hands is always terribly dry so I need a really really really good hand cream. I have tried a lot but I recently discovered this one and now I don't want to use anything else. It smells wonderful and makes your skin so soft. It contains shea butter, pumpkin seed butter, almond butter and cashew butter. So lots of butter. But don't worry, it does not feel like butter on your hands. It is also vegan and did I say that it smells really good?

5. Lush Rockstar soap

LUSH! What a surprise! But this is the best smelling soap I have ever used and it is pink! It smells like vanilla and contains some glitter. So I would say it is the perfect soap.

And here is something I really really really wish for my birthday....a Lime Crime lipstick. The color is so cute and I just love the packaging. Hehe. (Hello husband!)

And here is my song of the day: Penguins and polarbears by Millencolin.

What are your favorite beauty products? Any recommendations?
Have a wonderful Thursday!
