Things I love about fall.

Hallo meine Lieben,

I love every season. I love it when the flowers start to grow in spring, I love to spend time outdoors in summer and have a barbecue, I love to see all the fallen leaves in fall and I love the snow in winter.

But I definitely have a favorite season. It's fall or Herbst in German. And there are a couple of reasons why I enjoy this season so much.

Drinking tea.

I love tea. I drink it at any time of the year but it tastes best in fall. I don't know why. But I love to make a pot of tea in the evening, to snuggle up on the couch under a warm blanket, read a good book or watch a movie and drink my tea.

Fallen leaves.

I love to go out for hikes in fall. It is such a wonderful atmosphere when you see all the beautiful fall leaves and the wonderful colors. Everything smells so good, I can't even describe it. And when I come back into the warm house I make a tea for sure.

Fall fashion.

I admit that I have a huge collection of scarves, gloves and boots. I love fall fashion, I love warm clothes and I love the colors.

Halloween.

I love the fact that everybody in America is so excited about Halloween. When I was a kid it wasn't popular at all in Germany. It is getting more popular now but you can't compare it to America. I love going to haunted houses. It is so much fun. We went to a couple of good ones last year. For example a haunted cave (sooooo scary! I screamed a lot and I had to run away from a zombie who wanted to kill me with his chainsaw) and Haunted Hoochie (I almost froze to death because we had to wait so long but it was definitely worth it). I also love to make jack-o'-lanterns.

David's birthday.

                                                                    source

David's birthday is in October, right before Halloween and I love to celebrate it with him. I also love to bake a birthday cake for him which wasn't very successful last year because of our completely different taste in cakes. I will do better this year.

What do you love about fall? What is your favorite season?
Have a lovely Monday!

  3. When I was younger it was summer, but now I lean more towards fall or spring...I LOVE fall fashion it's just the shorter days that bother me. Spring I love because everything is fresh and new and I feel like I am thawing out after the winter! (Also, in Holland you can def wear boots in spring!)

    1. Yeah, it's the same in Germany. I mean, I have cold feet all the time so I wear boots from fall to spring. :)

  6. I love everything about fall. The weather's cool but not cold, the colors and clothes...yes please.

Halloween's fun too. I haven't dressed up in years, maybe I'll actually do it this year.

    1. I haven't dressed up in years either. Last year we went to all the haunted houses and I just wore as many clothes as possible because it was so cold! :) But I love dressing up!

  7. Haha, better luck with the cake this year then! I love your first reason, it sounds supercosy. My favourite season will always be summer I think. I just love how the sun energizes me and let my shoulders fall down to where they should be (not up by my ears as they normally were in Norway from september to april!)And not wear loads of warm clothes, but actually let the skin come out to breathe :) Of course these problems are solved living in Spain (and I bet that's why I love it so much!) xx

  8. I love fall too! I love the clothes and having pumpkin flavored everything- especially the beers :) Unfortunately, living in the Arizona desert I won't see fall for a few more months... I want all of those clothes in my closet!

Oh yeah, I guess you won't have much of a fall over there! :( We have all the seasons in Ohio and I love that a lot!

  10. Honestly you had me at the word "tea"! I recently hosted a tea event in NYC and I heard that Germany is the biggest importer of tea--who knew?! You have great taste.

    1. Wow, you hosted a tea event? That's awesome! Germany is a tea-loving country. My relatives send me tea from Germany because there are so many flavors that you can't find here in America.

  11. Hmmm, I can't really make up my mind. I think I love every season for its own reasons :)
I'm soooo looking forward to drinking more tea again - that's my favorite thing about fall. In summer tea is okay too, but in fall and winter it's just the best. I'm drinking it all day long.
And I love the colors of the trees too.
Halloween is great. I think I need to visit you then ;) it's just not as fabulous in Germany - I want to visit haunted houses :)
I'm sure the cake will turn out much better this year! So sweet of you to make him a cake for his birthday.
Ich drücke Dich ganz furchtbar feste liebe Katrin. Hab noch einen schönen Abend!

  12. yes. Fall fashion involves for me: leggings, boots, t-shirt, cardigan and a nice scarf. love. And I agree with the Tea. I got some great teas when i was in NYC, but haven't brewed any yet because it's still damn hot. I can not wait for the fall breeze and have a cup of tea. hmm.

    1. Yeah, I don't drink a lot of tea at the moment because it is just so warm! And too warm for boots and coats and scarves. :)

  17. My husband and I saw that Burg Frankenstein is nearby in our GPS. It wouldn't calculate a route for some reason, but when we mentioned it to friends they said there is a haunted house there around Halloween, so I am thinking it would be a good excuse to go if that's so. Fun fact for you, I actually worked in a haunted house one year when I was in high school.

    1. Oh, that is awesome. I love that they are starting to celebrate Halloween in Germany! You should definitely go and check it out. I mean, you are am expert! It's soo cool that you worked in a haunted house! What exactly did you do? :)) It seems like the "monsters" always picked me to do their spooky stuff with. :)

  18. Oh, I hate cold weather :(, hence, I prefer spring and summer. There's something about low temperatures and days being shorter that make me feel a little depressed. I'm also very asthmatic and I get bad in winter.

However, I must admit that my first winter in America was not so bad. Let's see how the second one goes, hehe. Americans make holidays so big that I think they kind of cheer me up :P, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's ... And so many seasonal products in the aisles! I guess I'll try to start fall with optimism this time ;).

And OMG, that cat! It's just too cute! :D

    Hugs!

    1. Yeah, I know how you feel about cold weather. I mean, I always have cold hands and feet, that's why I always have to wear warm clothes! I am sorry that you have problems with asthma! :((
I agree, Miki. I love the American holidays! Yesterday we went to a craft store and they already had all the Halloween decoration. It was so much fun to look at it.
I am sure this fall will be wonderful Miki!
      Have a lovely day!
