Drunk History, Save The Frogs Day and horseradish.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Save The Frogs Day to everybody! If you see a frog today, please be even nicer than you usually would. It is their day. You can read about this special day here and about Henri, the toad I saved from the road here.

A couple of days ago David introduced me to some fantastic videos called "Drunk History". People get drunk, tell you about some important historical events and famous actors (Ryan Gosling, Jack Black, Michael Cera...) act it out.
It is really hilarious and I would definitely recommend checking them out. The girl in the following video gets pretty emotional, other people just throw up and spill their drinks.
This is my favorite video so far.

Do you have any food addictions right now? I think I am not the only one with these addictions, they come and go but usually stick for a while and come back after months.
Right now it is horseradish. I pretty much eat horseradish with everything right now. Well, not with candy or anything like that but I eat it on my bread, in my salad dressing, in a pasta sauce...I can't get enough of it and I wonder how long it will last.
Do you like horseradish? What are your food addictions?

One thing I learned yesterday and did not know before: You can eat the whole kiwi with the peel. Shocking news. Did you know that? I did not but had to try it out immediately and I have to say: I like it a lot. It tastes delicious plus you don't have to do all the work to peel the kiwis. I am a believer in eating kiwi peel now.

Have a wonderful weekend, lovelies!

  2. I've accidentally eaten the peel before and I just do not like the fuzziness. I think technically you can eat the peel of any fruit. Jarrod's best friend's family eats the peel of oranges.

    1. That is interesting...I have never heard that somebody eats the peel of oranges. Kind of funny. I wonder how that tastes like. I am sure it is pretty bitter.

    2. I forgot to add that I only know them in orange marmalade. But not pure.

  3. I also have food addictions, right now its pickles...which is weird because that isn't really a meal. I guess I have not had much of an appetite since I got the flu :(

I have never like horseradish, but I heard its really healthy!

    1. I love pickles too. Sometimes I can eat a whole jar of them. :) I hope your appetite will come back soon and you feel better!

It really is healthy. I guess it is a good food addiction! :)

  6. Well, I've never had horseradish. And I didn't know you could eat kiwi peels! Aren't they kind of...fuzzy?

That video was hilarious! I'm glad I don't get that knackered after a bottle and a half of wine. Er, not that I've drunk enough to know, of course! :D

    1. You should really try some horseradish if you like spicy stuff. It's good. Well, I don't feel like the kiwi peel is that fuzzy. I don't know....can't really describe it.
And I am sure it would be fun to try a "drunk history" myself. Haha. I am sure it would be very entertaining. I don't know how much I have to drink for that. :)

  7. What a shame I didn't meet a frog yesterday! So cool that there's a day like that.
Unfortunately the video doesn't load for me :( Sometimes my laptop does that. I'll keep trying.
Do you know "Almette Merrettich"? Love that at the moment! ;) And my other food addictions definitely are chocolate müsli with hazelnut milk and mantecol, some bar made of peanuts that I brought from Argentina.
You can eat the kiwi peel? For real? I didn't know that! I'll have to try it :) That would save me the huge mess trying to eat it with a spoon always causes ;)
    I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday.
    Ich drücke Dich ganz fest.

    1. I did not meet one either, it is a shame!
Oh no, I am sorry that the video does not work. Hope it will at some point, it is really funny!
No, I have never heard about Almette Meerettich but everything with Meerrettich must be great. :)
I love Musli too! So good! And hazelnut milk is so yummy! That peanut bar sounds great too! I like "Mr. Tom". Do you know that? It is with caramel.
I did not know about the kiwi peel either! I thought it is a joke but I read about it and it is true. I already ate 4 of them with peel. I like it even better that way! You are right, it is always such a mess to eat it with a spoon. This is so much easier!
      Have a wonderful Sunday!
Ich drück Dich ganz dolle, meine Liebe!

  11. I LOVE Drunk History! Did you know Jen Kirkman is a comedienne? I once saw her in a show here. Once a month there's a show called Dead Author Readings where H.G. Wells (the comedian Paul F. Tompkins) interviews various dead authors. Jen Kirkman played Dorothy Parker.
