Items I splurge on.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Thursday! I hope you are all doing great! It's time for another round of Random Thursday.

The girls picked another awesome topic this week.

I have to say that right now I am under a strict spending ban so I only buy the things that are really necessary. But in general I have to say that it is lots of fun to splurge on things once in a while. I don't throw away my money but it is nice to treat yourself with a little something from time to time. And when I do that, I usually spend my money on the following things.

books.

I guess it is no surprise that I love to read. When a new book of one of my favorite writers comes out then I have to go to the book store and get it. I can't wait for the paperback. No chance.

beauty products.

It's fun to treat myself with a nail polish, a lipstick, an eye shadow palette once in a while. I love to discover new beauty products and every time I go to a store I want to look around a bit and see what's new. I also love to read beauty blogs.  My products have to be cruelty free, please.

fashion.

Fashion blogs, fashion magazines....I enjoy all of them. I probably have too many shoes but you can always find a shoe that you don't have in your collection yet. I love to go window shopping and look around in my favorite stores. And when I find something  that I love then it is hard to resist.

magazines.

I love all kinds of magazines. No matter if it is about fashion, science, DIY, home decoration, politics, entertainment, gossip....for me spending time with a magazine is time to relax.

food.

It's so much fun to try out new recipes, cook books are awesome. I usually don't follow recipes and just try out things that come into my mind but cook books are a great source for inspiration. And when I found a new vegan product in the supermarket that looks delicious then I just can't resist. We also love to go to restaurants. I usually don't order the same meal twice because I want to discover something new every time I go.

movie tickets.

We watch a lot of shows and movies at home but once in a while we love to go and see the movies on a big screen. It is a completely different experience and always so much fun. Except of the freezing temperatures in American movie theaters. I always have to bring something warm to wear.

concert tickets.

Concerts have always been one of my favorite things to do. David and I went to a couple of awesome concerts and I can't wait to experience more of them. It is also a great way to discover new bands.

traveling.

There are so many places on earth I want to see. And traveling with David is so much fun. We have been to awesome places already and I can't wait to add some more. Those are memories you will never forget. Plus when you are on vacation you usually treat yourself a little more than you usually would.

home decoration and art supplies.

I love to decorate our house, I love to create things, to paint and to draw. So when I see something that I really need in order to do these things....I can't say no.

So, now I am curious. What are the things you splurge on?
Have a lovely Thursday!

  1. Sounds a whole lot like me...not so much on traveling, being a mom to a school kid we don't have the time to travel that often, but all the other things are definitely things I splurge on!

    1. Great that we have so much in common! I can understand that travelling is a bit tricky with a school kid!

  2. I find I splurge mostly on experiences.... going out for dinner, a movie, etc. I struggle spending money on things... and that is probably why my wardrobe is filled with cheap clothes! ~Stephanie

I don't buy really expensive stuff either. I mostly buy stuff at H&M, Zara and so on.

  3. I guess I should have mention that I tend to splurge on cooking books... I love them, as the rest of the book but since I have a kindle it is so much more space convenient to buy e-books!

Food, concerts and traveling... definitely a good reason to splurge!

    Happy Thursday!

    1. Cooking books are so much fun to read. And you always get hungry. :) I got a kindle too and it is so great for traveling but I have to say that I still buy lots of "normal" books.
      Have a great weekend!

  5. Nice list!!

I splurge on tea and shoes. Tea because it gives me happiness several times a day and I can share with friends, and shoes because I walk a lot and comfortable feet are really important to my overall happiness!

There is nothing worse then sore feet!

    1. Oh yeah, I love to buy tea too. It is so much fun to discover new flavors. :) And comfortable shoes are definitely awesome. I always wear flat shoes. I think I have two pairs of high heels but never wear them.

Sure it is a risk when you always order something new on the menu but most times I got really lucky and found something great that I never had before!

  9. I think we splurge on the same stuff =) I just say no to hardcover books, not just because of the price tag but also because my bookshelves suffer ;-)
