I heard about that magazine last week and was able to find it at Barnes & Noble. I was so happy because there was only one issue left and I got it. I am in love. This magazine is fantastic. It contains recipes but also great articles about all kinds of vegetarian/vegan topics. There is an article about vegan wedding parties in this issue and it was so much fun to read about it. Can't wait for the next issue!
Neon.

That's a German magazine but my Dad sent me the last issue. He knows how much I love it. It's a lifestyle magazine and it covers all kinds of topics: politics, business, education, love, fashion, job, friendship etc.

I am a huge fan of crime novels, the bloodier the better, I love all the suspense. David picked out this one for me and I have to say: he did a great job! There are so many great book out there but I have to say that mysteries and crime novels will always be my #1.

I have to say that I haven't started to read this yet. I ordered it yesterday and now I can't wait for it to arrive. I have heard a lot about this book and I was interested it in for a while and now I finally ordered it. I guess this should be interesting for everybody, not just for vegetarians or vegans.
Iceland (Lonely Planet country guide)
Another book I ordered yesterday. I admit that I am a little obsessed with that country and I really hope that we will be able to travel there soon. I would move to Iceland. Right now. I want to learn more about the country and I can't wait to start reading.
What are you currently reading?
Any recommendations?
Have a lovely Thursday!
Ordering new books is always nice! Its funny that you are obsessed with Iceland, I used to be obsessed with Germany and then I moved there for 6 months and LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do get to visit Iceland one day :)
Hmm, seems like I have to move to Iceland someday. At least for six months. :)
DeleteI am really excited about the new books!
oh...iceland. i must visit it one day. do you know Inga's blog? she lives in iceland and the photos that she shares are breath-taking
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't know her blog yet but it sounds awesome. I have to check it out. Is she one of your followers?
Deleteno, she's not. here's her link "ingaseye.blogspot.com"
DeleteThanks dear! I'll go over and check it out!
DeleteOooh I'll have to check out VegNews! I'm usually wary of veggie publications because I feel like a lot are for beginners and state the obvious, but since you're a long time vegetarian (vegan?) too, I know it must be good. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really like the style of the magazines. It talks about so many different things and I definitely recommend it!
DeleteWhy we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows sounds Very interesting... and I'm not a vegetarian or vegan. I'll have to give it a go! and I just love ordering new books too!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I am sure it is very interesting! Not just for vegans or vegetarians. Hope you'll like it!
DeleteI love your posts about books! I'm definitely adding the dog one to my list.
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you so much, Chelsea! I hope you'll like the book!
DeleteIt's so awesome that they have a magazine just for vegan/vegetarians. OMG, I about squealed when I read that you liked bloody crime novels cause so do I! The reason I havent really been reading lately is because I havent found a crime type book thats caught my eye...until now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for recommending 'Th Devil She Knows', and kudos to your husband for picking out such a bad ass book.
Yeah, David has a pretty good taste! I got two books from him for my birthday and they are both great!
DeleteYou should really check out the books by Henning Mankell, Ake Edwardson, Arnaldur Indridason and Hakan Nesser. I am sure you would like them!
I want that VegNews magazine in Germany too! I don't know if we have any magazines like this at all. I'll have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteI rarely buy any magazines here and if it's not something about horses ;) it's usually the Neon too! That's a great one. So sweet your Dad sent it to you.
Oh I wish I didn' have to read text books right now - I want to read the ones you introduced to us, they all sound great. I guess it'll just have to wait for a while and then I'll read them - already looking forward to it :)
Have a wonderful day!
Ich drücke Dich, liebste Katrin.
I haven't seen a magazine like that In Germany but let me know if you find something, okay?
DeleteMy Dad is pretty nice. I sent me books and Neon! :)
I wish I'd have more time to read too! So stupid.
Have a wonderful weekend, Ich drück Dich!
I saw that you were a fan of Henning Mankell novels and wanted to let you know that I just finished the first Kurt Wallander novel today. Do you recommend reading the entire series?
ReplyDeleteYEAH! I love that series and I love Kurt Wallander. I definitely recommend reading the entire series. It gets better and better! Do you like the first book?
DeleteI did like the first book. It moves a little bit slow in the beginning so it's good to know that the series gets better. It's funny because right when I was thinking to myself "how come detectives are always divorced or single," Kurt asked the same thing in the novel
DeleteHaha, yeah, I loved that too. :) And it gets so much better, you should definitely read all of the books. :)) I started to love Kurt a lot!
DeleteAHHHH more books to read!!!
ReplyDeleteHehe. :)) Have fun!
DeleteOh goody! I love finding out about new books. I'm adding The Devil She Knows to my goodreads :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really good! I hope you'll like it!
DeleteOoooh I LOVE a good bloody murder story! Will have to check that out. Also have never heard of VegNews before, but as a vegetarian, I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up again - and I really hope you get over to Iceland soon (as long as you can blog from there, that is!) ;)
I hope you like both of them, the book and the magazine!
DeleteAnd thank you for all your sweet words! And for hosting the link up for sure! :)
These definitely sound interesting! I'm so happy that I have been making time to read lately!!
ReplyDeleteIt is important for me to find some time to read. It is so relaxing!
DeleteAre you forgetting about the cold, dark winters when you talk about this potential move to Iceland :P ?
ReplyDeleteHaha. You got me. :)I try to ignore the fact that I would freeze to death there.
DeleteI am completely obsessed with Iceland as well! Recently I got to know someone from Iceland and I found out so much cool insider information. I was thinking I would love to move there myself! :) Definitely need to go there (on holiday at least) very soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's so awesome that you met people from Iceland! I would love to meet some Icelanders too! And insider information? That sounds awesome! I want to travel there so badly!
