yesterday my friend Megan from A Suitcase and Stilettos tagged me in her Travel Confessions post. Megan, it was so much fun to read your confession and it made me want to eat tons of chips!
So now it's my turn to confess.
Here are the rules.
How to Confess:
1. Post a photo(s) and description of your confession in a new post.
2. Tweet your post with hashtag #TravelConfession and follow/tweet @Traveling9to5
3. Tag 3-5 other travelers you'd love to see confess and tag them on Twitter
Confession #1.
I try the local beer and compare it to German beer.
German beer is the best in the world, every German will tell you that. :) But it is possible to find good beer outside of Germany. And I don't mean buying German beer in other countries. So far I have found some great beer in Belgium and the Netherlands, Ireland has great beer and I even found some good beer in America. It's definitely not Budweiser but I guess it can taste good when you like stale beer.
And I am really excited to try some pumpkin beer. You are not able to get things like that in Germany, thanks to Deutsches Reinheitsgebot.

What's the best beer from your country?
Confession #2.
First thing I check in a hotel room is if there is any hair in the bed. And freak out if I find any. I am very picky about that. If I find a hair in my hotel room bed I just don't feel comfortable. And use sanitizer. I really don't want to know that other people slept in that bed before.
What are your travel confessions? I can't wait to hear about it! I want to hear all your confessions and especially the ones from

Thank you again Megan for tagging me! You rock!
I am also linking up with Natalie and Bella and share some fall fashion with you.
Okay, after looking around I really feel like I want to go shopping now. I need new shoes for fall! And I think my favorite fall colors are dark green, orange, bordeaux red and mustard yellow.
I need something like this.
and these shoes.
And this cardigan.
I need lots of scarves. I can't survive without them.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I've heard a lot about German beers are the best in the world. I always think of pumpkin beer as butterbeer in harry potter.
ReplyDeleteYou tag me!!!
thanks so much. i'll try to work on it ASAP. pinky swear!
Oh, I would love some butterbeer! :) And yeah, German beer is really really good. :)
DeleteCan't wait to read your confessions! I need to work on my childhood post...I am really ashamed it takes so long.
that is cool you try other beers when you travel! i do the same. i dont really compare them...just enjoy the local flavor and see how i enjoy the beer. i miss american beer right now b/c of the pumpkin ales...yum :) cant find them in norway!
ReplyDeleteand on your fashion board im in LOVE w/ the green jacket!!!!
glad you shared your confessions :)
Yeah, I like to check out new flavors and find something good. One time I had cherry beer but I expected more from it. I guess alcohol is pretty expensive in Norway...I can't wait to try the pumpkin ale!
DeleteThank you for tagging me again, dear!
Holy hell, that bed looks so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI love beer...you know this. Let's get beers together sometime. Deal!
It really was!
DeleteYeah I know! And it's a deal! Most definitely! Exciting!
That plum and green outfit is SO cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting at Pagan Spirits.
Thank you, dear! :)
DeleteI LOVE German beer and nothing is more fun than the beer gardens and festivals. Those pretzels, MMMM! I've had so much fun the few times I've visited Germany :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you had so much fun in Germany! :) And yeah, the Bretzeln and beer are definitely a great thing about Germany!
DeleteI love that green sweater & Beatles t-shirt. The shoes are cute too but I could never wear them without breaking an ankle haha.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I guess me neither. But they look cute!
DeleteJust saw your Sunday confessions from two weeks ago...
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you get so terribly cold.
That must get in the way of summer clothes and fashions and swimming
and all kinds of activities.
I feel bad for you - have you had your blood checked /
Yeah, I am fine. Just weird I guess. :) I don't like swimming so that's fine. :)
DeleteGlad you are okay ...stay warm ....lots of nice cardigans LOL
DeleteHaha, yeah, I need to go shopping for fall! :)
DeleteFunny how associations and such work their way into dreams.
DeleteAfter our little exchanges i dreamt you were at an outdoor evening garden party wearing a fabulous red summer dress with a white cardigan around your shoulders. I asked if you were
cold and you laughed and said ..No I am great....and thus ended the mini dream scene.
My dad is American but will drink nothing but German beer. He cycles through a few but his favorite is Spaten Optimator.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Spaten Bräu is really good and very popular in America. I guess Americans like Bavarian beer. Your dad has a great taste! :)
DeleteGerman beer is the best!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for tagging me!
It really is. :)
DeleteYou're welcome, dear!
I think the IPAs in the US can compare to German beer pretty well... well at least some of them. And I would be SO sicked out of I found hair in my hotel bed too, so now I'll probably be checking haha
ReplyDeleteI need some recommendations from you! I have to check them out!
DeleteAnd I am so sorry for freaking you out! ooops!
Oh that cardigan is what I have been looking for! Something like that! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up :)
Yeah, it is soooo pretty! I want it!!
DeleteHahaha, Budweiser freaking sucks! It even sucks here more than it does in Argentina, Geez! So many drinks are different in this country ... And what's up with Americans having "light" beer?! I mean, what the heck is that?! Is it like a lighter tasting version of regular beer? Or is it called light because of the calories? If you're having beer, just have real beer. I'm a sucker for Guinness. I don't know much about beer, but I kinda like Blue Moon, can't remember which one, though, haha. Which American beer do you consider to be ok, Katrin?
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of hotels and being grossed out ... I'll tell you a little secret. The last time David went to visit me in Buenos Aires, we went to a sex hotel, haha, shhh. We didn't spend the night, though, it felt too weird.
Haha, I have no idea what "light beer" means...Less alcohol? Less calories? Probably just less taste...I am not sure if that's possible. Haha. I am mean.
DeleteI need to check out Blue Moon. I haven't tried that yet. And I need to ask David about the beers we tried. I know that one tasted like nuts and one was a Christmas beer.
And I would love to hear more about that story, I am curious! :)
Thank you so much for tagging me, sweet Katrin :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to that post. I hope I get to do it soon - I've been so caught up in everything last week that I didn't even manage to catch up on reading my favorite blogs and answering e-mails.
I'm not so much a beer drinker but I have to admit I tried a very dark and bitter beer in Salem and some blueberry ale - and I liked it ;)
Oh I feel the same way if I can see that the bed in a hotel was used before....igitt.
And I totally agree on the scarves! I need to have a lot of them too...that's the best accessory when you're freezing all the time ;)
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Ich drücke Dich ganz fest, liebste Katrin.
You are very welcome, dear! I can't wait to read your confessions!
DeleteI am sorry that you are so busy! Just take your time! I hope you will fine some time to relax soon!
Awesome, I have never tried blueberry ale! Sounds so delicious! I have to find some!
Scarves are the best! I always wear them from September to April. :)
Have a lovely weekend, Ich drück Dich!
I'm a little behind in my blog reading, so I just saw this today. I will have to think of some and try to post them this week. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I also don't think to find hair in my bed, or anything else for that matter. I once made a maid take my comforter to the wash because it had what could have been blood on it.
DeleteI totally forgot to send you a message about it! But I can't wait to read yours!
DeleteAnd I would have done the exact same thing!
