Travel confessions & fall fashion.

Hallo meine Lieben,

yesterday my friend Megan from A Suitcase and Stilettos tagged me in her Travel Confessions post. Megan, it was so much fun to read your confession and it made me want to eat tons of chips!

So now it's my turn to confess.
Here are the rules.

How to Confess:

1.  Post a photo(s) and description of your confession in a new post.
2.  Tweet your post with hashtag #TravelConfession and follow/tweet @Traveling9to5
3.  Tag 3-5 other travelers you'd love to see confess and tag them on Twitter

Confession #1.

I try the local beer and compare it to German beer.
German beer is the best in the world, every German will tell you that. :) But it is possible to find good beer outside of Germany. And I don't mean buying German beer in other countries.  So far I have found some great beer in Belgium and the Netherlands, Ireland has great beer and I even found some good beer in America. It's definitely not Budweiser but I guess it can  taste good when you like stale beer.

And I am really excited to try some pumpkin beer. You are not able to get things like that in Germany, thanks to Deutsches Reinheitsgebot.

What's the best beer from your country?

Confession #2.

First thing I check in a hotel room is if there is any hair in the bed. And freak out if I find any. I am very picky about that. If I find a hair in my hotel room bed I just don't feel comfortable. And use sanitizer. I really don't want to know that other people slept in that bed before.

This bed was perfectly clean by the way! Thank you Renaissance Hotel in Amsterdam.

What are your travel confessions? I can't wait to hear about it! I want to hear all your confessions and especially the ones from

Celeste at The Punching Teacup
Beate at Wish it. Dream it. Do it.
Miss Sugar Shack at Miss Sugar Shack
Niken at Read My Mind
Amanda at Overseas Adventures

Thank you again Megan for tagging me! You rock!

I am also linking up with Natalie and Bella and share some fall fashion with you.

Okay, after looking around I really feel like I want to go shopping now. I need new shoes for fall! And I think my favorite fall colors are dark green, orange, bordeaux red and mustard yellow.

I need something like this.

and these shoes.

And this cardigan.

Do you want to go shopping for fall stuff? What do you need?
I need lots of scarves. I can't survive without them.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

    1. Yeah, I like to check out new flavors and find something good. One time I had cherry beer but I expected more from it. I guess alcohol is pretty expensive in Norway...I can't wait to try the pumpkin ale!

Thank you for tagging me again, dear!

  7. Just saw your Sunday confessions from two weeks ago...
I am sorry you get so terribly cold.
That must get in the way of summer clothes and fashions and swimming
    and all kinds of activities.
I feel bad for you - have you had your blood checked /

    4. Funny how associations and such work their way into dreams.
After our little exchanges i dreamt you were at an outdoor evening garden party wearing a fabulous red summer dress with a white cardigan around your shoulders. I asked if you were
cold and you laughed and said ..No I am great....and thus ended the mini dream scene.

  8. My dad is American but will drink nothing but German beer. He cycles through a few but his favorite is Spaten Optimator.

    1. Oh yeah, Spaten Bräu is really good and very popular in America. I guess Americans like Bavarian beer. Your dad has a great taste! :)

  10. I think the IPAs in the US can compare to German beer pretty well... well at least some of them. And I would be SO sicked out of I found hair in my hotel bed too, so now I'll probably be checking haha

  12. Hahaha, Budweiser freaking sucks! It even sucks here more than it does in Argentina, Geez! So many drinks are different in this country ... And what's up with Americans having "light" beer?! I mean, what the heck is that?! Is it like a lighter tasting version of regular beer? Or is it called light because of the calories? If you're having beer, just have real beer. I'm a sucker for Guinness. I don't know much about beer, but I kinda like Blue Moon, can't remember which one, though, haha. Which American beer do you consider to be ok, Katrin?

And speaking of hotels and being grossed out ... I'll tell you a little secret. The last time David went to visit me in Buenos Aires, we went to a sex hotel, haha, shhh. We didn't spend the night, though, it felt too weird.

    1. Haha, I have no idea what "light beer" means...Less alcohol? Less calories? Probably just less taste...I am not sure if that's possible. Haha. I am mean.
I need to check out Blue Moon. I haven't tried that yet. And I need to ask David about the beers we tried. I know that one tasted like nuts and one was a Christmas beer.

And I would love to hear more about that story, I am curious! :)

  13. Thank you so much for tagging me, sweet Katrin :)
I'm so looking forward to that post. I hope I get to do it soon - I've been so caught up in everything last week that I didn't even manage to catch up on reading my favorite blogs and answering e-mails.

I'm not so much a beer drinker but I have to admit I tried a very dark and bitter beer in Salem and some blueberry ale - and I liked it ;)
Oh I feel the same way if I can see that the bed in a hotel was used before....igitt.

And I totally agree on the scarves! I need to have a lot of them too...that's the best accessory when you're freezing all the time ;)

    I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Ich drücke Dich ganz fest, liebste Katrin.

Awesome, I have never tried blueberry ale! Sounds so delicious! I have to find some!

Scarves are the best! I always wear them from September to April. :)

Have a lovely weekend, Ich drück Dich!

    1. P.S. I also don't think to find hair in my bed, or anything else for that matter. I once made a maid take my comforter to the wash because it had what could have been blood on it.

    2. I totally forgot to send you a message about it! But I can't wait to read yours!
And I would have done the exact same thing!
