Ten On Tuesday. National Animal Advocacy Day, Awkward and mistranslations.

Hallo meine Lieben,

happy Tuesday! How is your week going? I really hope that everything is fine!
For me, it's time for another Ten On Tuesday. You can link up here.

1. I have so many shows piled up that I need to watch. I am way behind and I think I might have to stay up a couple of nights to catch up with all of them. On the other hand, it is good to know that I am not running out of entertainment. There are also books, magazines, crafts...

2. I really really really feel like going shopping for spring clothes.

3. Yesterday I found out that "Awkward" started again and I completely missed that. I have no idea how that's possible but I need to catch up. Well, there are only 3 episodes to catch up with so it shouldn't be a big problem. I missed Sadie.

4. Seriously, what is wrong with this country? Animal crush videos are protected by the first amendment? Recording the torture and murder of animals is protected as free speech? At least that is what a stupid idiot judge thinks. There is an Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act but I guess some judges are too stupid and ignorant to see that. You can read about the whole case here.

5. By the way: today is National Animal Advocacy Day. So please speak up for the animals. They need our voice. For example you can support and sign some very important petitions here. It only takes a minute to sign and it can make a difference.

6. Tonight I want to cook my favorite soup. Red lentil soup with coconut milk and chili. I posted that recipe a year ago. It's so delicious and easy to make.

7. Do you know what's totally weird for a German? When you listen to an English speaking song but it sounds like something totally different in German. For example: The song "Girls just want to have fun by Cyndi Lauper. At some point she sings "the phone rings" but the way she sings it, it could also be "da vorne links" (over there on the left) in German.  So funny. I guess only when you are German. Do these things ever happen to you or only to me?

8. Another example: Bad by Michael Jackson. He sings "The word is out" but it could also be "Du blöde Sau" (You stupid pig).
Pigs are very very smart by the way.

9. Grumpy Cat is always right.

10.  And again.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  1. People wonder why I'm quiet too, Tarder. You're not alone!

I'm peeved at the courts right now. Seriously, wtf.

I had to pin Sadie. I'm not sure what that says about me as a person! :D

  2. Mmm would love that soup recipe! I just started a diet and lentils are a big part. Also, you'll have so much time to watch shows over summer when they don't air new ones :)

  4. I will have to try that recipe!

I had an ex co-worker from Latvia who would sometimes literally translate things. So she would say things like 'that makes my ears curl like little sausages' in the office. It was really funny.

  8. I'm so glad you always tell us things like today - I wouldn't know it's National Animal Advocacy Day without you! I love that there are so many organizations and so many people trying to save animals and nature. It's a shame media and stuff is not picking it up more.
You're not the only one, especially in songs it happens to me all the time, too, that I hear German words or sentences when there definitely are none :) Good to know it happens to you, too.
    I hope you're having a wonderful week!
    Ich drücke Dich ganz fest.

  10. #7/8 - misheard lyrics -- that happens a lot to me. if I actually know German, I would think I would have the same reaction. I often think the singers don't quite pronounce words correctly.

    #10 - I think that's me quite often.

hope you have a sweet day.

  14. Hahaha, hilarious! (7,8,9,10) Music has always been a passion of mine, and when I was younger, I used to try to write down the lyrics of my favourite songs in English.(That was before it was possible to just google it you know:) I didn't really know much English yet so you can only imagine what words I constructed ;) I found this notebook a few years ago and laughed so hard!

    1. I did the same and I guess it was pretty hilarious! Unfortunately I don't have the stuff I wrote down anymore. It is so cool that you still have the notebook! You have to keep that forever! :)

The meaning of this is that you actually burn fat by eating Coconut Fat (including coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).

These 3 studies from big medical journals are sure to turn the conventional nutrition world upside down!
