I hope you are having the most wonderful week. This week's Random Thursday topic is...
My German city.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of this, but there is a massive old tree in my home town which I love so much. I can see it from my Dad's house and it makes me happy to see that huge tree every time I look at it. People who drive through my town (I have to admit, not many people drive through there because it is such a tiny place) even stop to take pictures of that tree. When I walk to the cemetery I always pass by that tree and I always have to stop to just stand there and look at it.
My American city.
There is not much in this town but there are some fantastic hiking trails. I love spending time in the nature, it is the perfect way to relax.
Except of that my favorite place in every town is the book store. When I see a book store, then I have to stop and go inside and look around. I guess my life goal is to visit every single book store that exists.
What places do you love in your city?
Have a lovely day!
I've been to that bookstore in Portugal - it's incredible!
ReplyDeleteI really want to go to that bookstore and spend a whole week there. It looks so incredible!
Deletebookstore always has special place in my heart. i can imagine the feeling you have of your german city. the memory of the familiarity of your hometown. must be a sweet feeling and memory to have. ps. i could staring to that tree all day long too, i think ;P
ReplyDeleteyeah, in my heart too. there is something special about book stores.
Deletei really like my hometown a lot. even when it is just a tiny little place. :)
staring at trees is awesome! :))
I love big old trees, they're so beautiful. And the fact they've prob been around for hundreds of years makes them even more bad ass. We have some hiking trails but since its all desert area, I stay away cause dont want to risk running into a rattle snake & dying out in the wilderness haha. Thanks so much for linking up sweets!
ReplyDeleteI agree, these old trees are fascinating! I don't know how old this one is but it is sooo massive, it must be hundreds of years old!
DeleteWell, that sounds a bit dangerous for a hike! I have only seen a tiny snake once here in Ohio. No rattle snakes or scorpions!
I love visting used bookstores too! :-)
ReplyDeleteBookstores are so fascinating. I could honestly spend days in there!

ReplyDeleteBookstores are always my favourite too! :) ~Stephanie
ReplyDeleteThey really are the best! I never want to leave. :)
DeleteOooh, I have to go to that bookstore! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd those hiking trails in your town look like fun!
They really are a lot of fun. I love hiking there. It looks kind of magical!
DeleteThat book store is sooo fantastic! I want to spend days in there!
Bookstores and nature trails are the best!!!! And I love big old trees. When I'm in the forest I always imagine the Ents are walking around somewhere singing. So geeky, I know.
ReplyDeleteHaha, maybe a bit geeky but I love geeky! :)
DeleteBookstores are great!
ReplyDeleteHmm...in my city my favorite place is the airfield. There is a restaurant and aeroclub and you can watch the little planes going up and down.
That sounds like such a fantastic place! I think I have seen pictures on your blog and/or Instagram and it looks really awesome!
DeleteIt's beautiful!
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
It really is!
DeleteI'm still discovering places in this town but I am such a big fan of bookstores as well, particularly local ones with tons of charm
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. They are the best. I am not so much a fan of these bookstore chains!
DeleteI don't really have a favorite city! But I do love Spain so far... all these neat little streets, the big market, the train station, and the awesome groceries with vegan delights (faux meat alternatives, cheezes, Spanish prepared meals i.e., paella or gazpachos). Now I want to make some sandwich today.
ReplyDeleteI love all your pictures on Instagram! It seems like you are in vegan heaven! I need to travel to Spain as soon as possible!
DeleteI totally agree - I can't think of anything more peaceful than going hiking through the woods on a pretty day. It just feels right.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in London long enough to have decided on a favorite spot, but I'm sure given enough time I'll have plenty, just like I did back home in Tennessee!
Yeah, it definitely feels right! It is so relaxing and the perfect thing to do to get away from work, stress etc.
DeleteThere are so many wonderful places in London. I can't wait to read more about them on your blog!
Ahh, I know what you mean, here in my German hometown, there are some nice places I like to go to, there is a river and a water wheel and some little bridges to go over the river. I just like to stand there and watch the water flowing.
ReplyDeleteIn the Irish town I lived, I liked to go to the river as well.
I think I have a thing for water.
I love that Instagram picture! It looks really calm and must be devine being there.
The places in your German hometown sound awesome. I really like rivers and water wheels and little bridges. It looks like in a fairy tale! :)
DeleteYou really seem to have a thing for water! :) I like being near the water, just not in the water. :)
Bookstores have a certain smell about them that I swear I'm addicted to :)
ReplyDeleteOh me too! There even is a perfume that smells like books. I might have to buy that! :)
