Hallo meine Lieben,
It's Tuesday and that means that I am linking up with fabulous Lin from Linny's Vault who is celebrating her 3rd blog birthday by hosting some wonderful giveaways! You should definitely go and check it out, she is wonderful and funny and her blog is fantastic!
1. My number one is my wonderful husband and best friend David! He loves me even though I don't want to live in a bubble made of the leftovers of the earth when the universe ends. Thank you, Schatz! You rock! I love you!
2. My friend Vanisha from Vanisha's life...in Australia surprised me this morning with a wonderful thank you card! Vanisha, thank you so much! You absolutely made my day! You are such a sweetheart and I am so happy that we are blog friends!
Go and check out the blog of this wonderful, smart, fantastic woman!
3. I have met so many wonderful people since I started this little blog! Thank you so much for your support, our friendship means the world to me! You always make me smile when you leave a comment or send me an email! I love to come over and visit your blogs! One of my daily highlights! You know who you are! Thanks to all of you!
4. One of these lovely people is the wonderful Miss Sugar Shack! She is a German girl (like me), has an American husband (like me) and lives in the beautiful Netherlands! You should definitely go and check out her fabulous posts and pictures!
5. I recently discovered a great series of crime novels, written by the Icelandic writer Yrsa Sigurdardóttir. I also told my Dad how much I enjoyed her book "Geisterfjord". It was full of tension and really scary. And yesterday I found a package from my Dad in the mail: he sent me two new books from her! I totally freaked out because I did not expect that at all! Thank you, Papa! You are wonderful!
6. David recently told me that Germans always sound angry. I am thinking about this the whole time. I don't know if it's just me or all Germans. i need to do some research. I have never heard about this stereotype before. And do I really sound that angry? I can't believe it!
This is Oliver Kahn by the way. The former goalkeeper of the German national team. He was always angry.
7. I found my perfect recipe for salad dressing. Horseradish mustard mixed with oil, rice drink, soy sauce and different spices. I love it and eat it every day. I used vanilla rice drink. I know that most people would not combine vanilla with horseradish and mustard but it doesn't have a really strong vanilla taste plus I like weird combinations.
8. It can be frustrating when people ask me why I don't eat fish. A fish is an animal, okay? And by the way, you can't be vegetarian/vegan and eat fish. That does not make any sense. People who eat like that are pescetarians. And no, I don't have any deficiency symptoms. :)
9. I am the world's worst poker player because you can always see if I have good or bad cards. I love to play it anyway and I am sure my opponents are happy about it too.
10. I am also the world's worst mini golf player. I never won a single game but I always try to look professional. And I hurt the people who play with me. When I was a kid a hit my Mom's eyebrow with the bat so that we had to go to the hospital.
Have a fabulous Tuesday!
Nope, I guess the world's worst mini golf player would be me! haha
ReplyDeleteI heard someone saying that Germans sound angry as well, but only when speaking German. I guess our language sounds rather harsh and edgy...I think so, too!
Gorgeous pic of the two of you! Hugs xxx
Haha, we should have a competition! :)
DeleteHmm, I guess it is true and we really sound angry. I am sure my husband thinks that I always sound angry, even when I speak English. I don't think so.
Thank you so much, Chrissy! Hugs!
I have heard the stereotype that Germans are always angry but I don't notice it. I suppose its the way that the accent is perceived by some people. (I think Russians sound angrier personally!)
ReplyDeleteI hate it when people ask me (or more often try to tell me) that I am lacking in vitamins or somehow unhealthy because I am vegan...I go to the gym every day and most of the people that try to tell me this can hardly bother to get off their sofa's at the weekend!
I agree, I also think that Russians sound a lot angrier. :) But I guess it really is the accent. David always tells me that I should have a sign that sayd "I am angry now" or "I am not angry".
DeleteYeah, it is so annoying. I mean, I eat fresh fruits and veggies every single day. And I am sure that's much healthier than eating meat every day!
I also get the fish question. I also got someone telling me I am too fussy because I refuse to eat jello-o since it is an animal product. Go figure...
ReplyDeleteIt seems like every vegetarian/vegan knows that question. :) People also ask me why I don't eat gummi bears. :)
DeleteWe should go mini golfing because I'm horrible too! People concern themselves WAY too much with what other people eat. Who cares if you don't eat fish? As long as you're healthy.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I am sure it would be lots of fun playing together! :))
DeleteThanks Breenah! Sometimes I feel like people think I am not normal. Sad.
Haha I'm the worst mini gold player too. My friends always want to play it on vacation too. I'm like whhhyyy!!
ReplyDeleteOh and thank you for your sweet comments on my blog!
We should all have a mini golf competition! :)
DeleteYou're welcome! I enjoyed your Vegas posts a lot! :)
Thanks for stopping by! I've loved reading the comments from women who are from a different country. It's crazy because sorority life is so big here, but not in other places of the world. It's such an interesting perspective to get. I hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bri! It was so much fun to read about your sorority life and I will definitely stop by again! Your blog is gorgeous! Have a great week!
DeleteI'm so thankful to this medium, too, for all the wonderful people I've met, like you!
ReplyDeleteHopping on over to check out the first blog you recommended ;).
And, hey, if you're ever looking for a specific book, let me know and I might be able to get it for cheap at the book sale ;).
Oh, and I totally suck at mini golf, too, hehe.
Aww, you are so sweet, Miki! I am so happy that we've met! :)
DeleteI am sure you will like her, she's great!
Awesome! :)) I'll let you know. I think I have like a thousand on my list. Haha.
It seems like everybody sucks at mini golf. Hehe.
1. Aw what an adorable photo!
ReplyDelete2. It's awesome having cool blog friends.
4. Look at you spreading the blogger love. Yay you.
5. You're one lucky girl to have such a great dad. Very cool of him.
6. Not gonna lie, German's do always sound angry. There's just so much feeling behind every word...it's actually kind of awesome.
7. I'll take your word for it because I'm not a horseradish fan.
8. I don't eat fish either but only because I it's gross.
9. Haha, I hope you dont play for real money.
10. I suck at miniature golfing too but I dont photograph as nicely as you do :/
Thanks for linking up, your 10 are always really entertaining.
Thank you, Lin! I am always looking forward to your link-up!
DeleteI am so happy that I have found so many great new friends. It's awesome! :) You're awesome!
Do they always sound angry or just when they speak German? I am very interested in this topic. :)
Sometimes we played for a couple of Euros but I would never for lots of money because I always lose. :) And I am sure you look very professional when you play mini-golf!
Oh I get what your husband is saying about germans sounding angry....I've thought it/heard it from other people before...I don't think its that your shouting, its just the language can sound harsh to people who don't hear it very often...like the way the sentences are structured! Just like when I first came to Ireland I thought they all sounded like they had all just sucked on some helium! haha!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Irish people sound like they sucked some helium? That's awesome! I love it! I just wonder if Germans always sound like that, even when they talk English. But yeah, I guess the German language can really sound a little harsh!
DeleteOh, thanks a lot for the roses! Thats really nice of you! I am actually really glad I met you through this whole blog-thingie! It´s not too often I find somebody I have so many things with in common and who I kind of click with...hard to describe. I like you :D
ReplyDeleteMy hubby actually said the same thing about Germans always sounding angry to him...He sais for him it has to do with the language, since German is way harsher sounding than english. When he first came to Germany and somebody would ask him in a normal tone if he wanted the menue or something, he thought he had done something wrong because he thought they were mad at him :D
When we were on holiday in greece he thought everybody was being very rude, because they sounded even angrier to him than the germans....
Cheers,
Miss Sugar Shack
You're welcome! I love reading your blog and I know everybody will do so too. I am so glad that we found each other! I am sure we would be great friends. :) Does that sound scary? Haha. I don't know. But yeah, I know what you mean and I like you too! :D
DeleteIt's so weird. I have never thought that I could sound so angry! Your poor husband! He must have been really confused! Do you think we also sound angry when we speak English?
I am glad that Greeks sound even angrier. :))
I so hear you on #8. If I say I'm cold, or tired, or whatever--everyone immediately says, "It's cause you don't eat meat!" As they eat their electric orange cheetos, a soda, and a king size candy bar for lunch. Um, which one of is unhealthy? I eat tons of protein every day!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the German language can sound kind of harsh compared to English, but if I think about any Germans I have heard speak on TV or in person, they didn't sound angry as a rule. Some sound quite pleasant actually.
Haha, yeah, I agree, that is so weird. I mean, we eat lots of vegetables and fruits and I don't know what but we are the unhealthy ones. Haha. Nice.
DeleteYeah, I agree, I think the language can sound really harsh and I am sure I do when I am angry or emotional. :) But I guess most of the time I sound nice. :)
