Book club!

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

oh, I love books. I can't even tell you how much. I can never get enough of crime novels. I need to read all of them and I really mean it. My favorite crime writers are Edwarson, Mankell, Nesser and Indridason. I own all their books and I love to look at them in my shelf. It really is a pleasure for me to look at all the books happily together in my bookshelf. I have one bookshelf just for crime novels. Seriously. In my opinion the best crime novels come from Sweden and Iceland. I am not sure why...but they are all very dark and the characters are so strong and impressive.

So a couple of weeks ago I spent some time in a book store (I can spend a whole day there by the way. One of the greatest book stores I have ever been to is in Denver, Colorado by the way. I am not sure but I think it is called Tattered Cover Book Store. I spilled a whole cup of water there. That was a little embarrassing but they did not kick me out.). But anyways, I discovered a new crime novel series that I haven't heard of before and that was so exciting, I can't tell you. The writer is called Yrsa Sigurðardóttir. And the first book that caught my attention is called "Geisterfjord". In English "Ghost Fjord". I haven't found it on amazon.com so maybe they haven't published it yet in America but you can get other books from her so you should definitely check them out.

Three young people plan to rebuild a rundown house in an abandoned village in Iceland. They have no clue what massive events they initiate by that...They are frightened by strange phenomena and sounds.
At the same time many miles away the suicide of an old lady presents a riddle for the police.
How are these inexplicable phenomena related? And how dangerous is it to get to the bottom of them?

Seriously, the book is so exciting that you can't stop reading.
I hope you are having a wonderful Friday!

I am linking up with Heather from Blonde...Undercover Blonde!

  5. Thanks a lot for the tip, I think the book sounds great! I bet it will be easier to buy here in Europe than in the US.

I love crime novels as well and there really are a lot of awesome scandinavian writers. I also really like Mankell, Jo Nesbo and Stieg Larson.

By the way, I know the bookshop in Denver. Its actually quite famous, its even on Monopolys Denver Edition :)

Hope you are having a great weekend!
