Book club!

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

it's book club Friday again and I am linking up with Heather from Blonde...Undercover Blonde! Yay!

A couple of days ago I have seen a book in a book store that immediately caught my attention. The title just sounds absolutely great and after reading the blurb I brought it to the checkout. I will have a long flight next week so I wanted to save it until then but I had to start reading it. 

The book is called
The 100-year-old man who climbed out the window and disappeared by Jonas Jonasson.

After a long and eventful life Allan Carlsson ends up in a nursing home. He believes that this is his last stop. 
But there is one problem: He is still in good health, no death in sight. So on his 100th birthday he decides to leave the nursing home because he is not in the mood for a big celebration. So he climbs out of the window in his slippers and embarks on an unbelievable, hilarious and unexpected journey which includes a suitcase full of money, an elephant, unpleasant criminals and lots more.

It is the adventure of a lifetime but Allan's life was not like anybody else's life. He has witnessed some of the most important events of the twentieth century. And he even played a key role in them...
He had some interesting experiences with Mao, Stalin, Churchill, de Gaulle and others....

Please be aware: Once you started to read it you just can't stop.
