Sunday Confessions! Food edition. And a beautiful bunny.

I am linking up with fantastic Alyx from Every day is a new adventure!

1.We cook two different meals almost every single day because David and I eat completely different things. He hates my broccoli, he says it tastes terrible but the smell is the worst. I stopped eating meat when I was 12 and I will never ever eat it again. I eat vegetables every day.  With rice. Or pasta. Or potatoes. Sometimes with tofu. That might sound boring but I love it. I really do. I am glad that David started to like at least some vegetables but we will never have the same taste in food. He loves onions for example. I love all other vegetables but I get sick when I accidentally eat an onion.

2. Sometimes I eat the same thing every day. For weeks. I remember that once I ate fruit salad for every meal, every day. The after a couple of weeks I have enough and start to eat something else. At the moment I am addicted to Hummus and would like to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

3. I wish there would be a vegan alternative for "Danny Sahne Pudding". It really is the only thing I miss. I don't miss meat or scrambled eggs. I don't miss it at all. But I would really like to eat this pudding again. There are so many vegan alternatives on the market now. I love it. You even get vegan fish. I have never tried that but a couple of days ago I saw vegan scampi in an online store and I would be interested to try that. When I became vegetarian there weren't many alternatives. My first tofu Schnitzel tasted awful. I remember that I came back from school, opened the door and smelled something really terrible. My Mom wanted to make me happy and found some tofu Schnitzel for me. I am sure it was horrible for her to cook it because of the smell but she did it. She was so wonderful. We both tried it and it tasted like rubber. But there is such a great selection now, I am always surprised on how much you can find these days. I don't need meat replacement every day but it is nice to have it sometimes, especially when you have a barbecue.

4. I believe in the saying "Sieben Bier, ein Schmier" which means "Seven beer are one slice of bread". I always try to eat when I drink but when you don't have something to eat then a beer makes you full too.
Maybe seven beer is a bit too much. When I drink seven beer I fall asleep. After one beer I get really talkative. After three beers I get tired.

5. I hate the smell of barbecue sauce. I just can't stand it. I don't know how people can actually like that. David likes it by  the way (it seems like he loves to eat all the stuff I hate and I hate all the stuff he likes. Good combination. :)). I don't know what's it made of but it smells like rotten bones covered with burned sugar and wood.

6. A couple of years ago I ate a whole Habanero pepper. I wanted to be brave. I like spicy food a lot and so I thought it wouldn't be that bad. But hey, it was terrible. I wanted to call an ambulance because first I wasn't able to feel my hands anymore, then my nose, I was blue and red around my eyes and it was just absolutely painful. I ate a whole baguette to lessen the pain. Water does not help at all against it.

What's your favorite food?

Here's a picture of Findus on his favorite blanket. He is a very relaxed bunny. And he likes to eat. As you can see. He only gets fresh food and he runs around a lot so I don't know why he is so chubby...But my vet says he is absolutely fine. I am sure it is just his bone structure. :) And the picture is not very flattering. Haha. He is a beautiful bunny!

Have a lovely Sunday!!

    1. You should eat and drink. :) I hope you will have a great time in Germany!
My favorite beer is Bitburger! You should also try Erdinger Weißbier! Really good! I am sure your husband will like German beer!

  2. I also love vegetables with rice, pasta and potatoes. There is also something to variegate.
I know that. I often have something I want to est all the time for a few weeks. I've had that with much different delicious things :)
Aren't there delicious vegan burgers in the United States, too?

  4. lol rotten bones??? I love BBQ sauce.
I'm also a huge meat eater, but I totally respect people who can be vegetarian - it takes a lot of drive and discipline.
I can only imagine how nasty that tofu schnitzel was! But how nice of your mom to make it for you!!
    Thanks for linking up Katrin!

    1. Yeah, that's how I imagine the smell of rotten bones. :) Most people I know love barbecue sauce! It's hard for me to understand but I guess my taste is just weird.
It was really nice from my Mom! She had to stand that smell much longer than me!
      Love your link-up, Alyx!

  5. I think it's so funny that you and I are the same about eating the same thing over and over for days! Most of my friends think I'm nuts! Well...they are probably right...lol...but when I get stuck on something...I'm stuck!

    1. Haha, it's great that we are the same about that. When I find something I like I'll stick to it, no matter what. :)

  6. I can totally relate to your eating habits :) I am not completely vegetarian, but I eat meat or fish very rarely. I just don't need it very often. I love my veggies and fruit with every meal. And I can eat the same thing every day just like you. Like my breakfast - it's always the same and I never get tired of it :D
And I hate onions, and celery and garlic. Mostly because I react to them, but I can't stand the smell either. I'm glad to know there are other people out there who don't like onions :)
Your bunny is so cute - and I really like his name :)

    1. Onions are the worst thing ever! :) I really can't understand how people can actually like them. I mean, they smell really bad and the taste is terrible...and then the feeling when you bite on them....pfui! Glad I am not the only one!
Thank you! It's from a series of children's books called "Petterson & Findus". Findus is a cat in the books but I thought it would be nice for a bunny too. :)

  7. 1. i go to school in an area that is known for growing broccoli. every time i would go to class, it would smell like someone farted in my car (and it wasn't me)...i then realized it was the broccoli!
    2. i do the same thing...i get addicted to foods and then get sick of them and move on to something else
    4. i try to eat while drinking too, otherwise i get sloppy quickly, but too much of either and i get bloat and hate life

followed you over the graceless lady, great blog, newest follower :)

    1. Thank you so much! :) Glad you like it! Welcome! :))
Oh, I am sure that's a little too much broccoli smell! I am sure I would get sick of it.
I exactly know what you mean with #4.

  8. Jarrod is the pickiest eater I know. He could eat chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn for every meal I swear. He takes a LOT of convincing to try something new and will rarely try a veggie, even if I prepare it differently or smother it in cheese. It gets annoying, haha! I told him he has to eat veggies once Quinn starts eating real food otherwise she'll think she can say no too.

    1. Oh, that sounds bad! I hope he will start eating veggies when Quinn starts eating real food! I am glad that David tries the veggies I cook. And now he even likes peppers and corn and mushrooms. But he will never like my broccoli.

  9. I can completely relate to eating everything for days (maybe not weeks!). Every now and then I get a serious craving for peanut butter on toast. That's it. And I'll eat it for days. Also addicted to rice! I just chalk it up to "that's what my body wants and I'm going to give it to it!"

  10. OMG! I can´t believe I´m not the only one who eats the same thing for days and weeks at a time!!!
When I really like something I go through phases where I only eat that. Eventually I get tired of it and don`t eat it for a while. How funny that you do that too ;)
